I didn't have much trouble landing a new position that pays slightly better than Dell. This company is still a great reference that opens many doors. Rightfully or not, you decide. I admit it was scary leaving a place where I've spent more than two decades of my life, but it was time. Too many things have changed for the worse and people my age now have a target on their back whenever there's another round of layoffs. I decided to leave on my own terms. I miss my coworkers, but I don't miss the company.

Yup..20 years in, top reviews consistently, they dumped me like a used co---m...was 55 at the time
I hear some folks after they left DELL/EMC have landed dream jobs at NVIDIA with 4 >times higher salaries..
They probably made it in RSUs. I don't think Nvidia pays base salary 4 times higher that DELL.
DELL, HPE, IBM - these companies belong to the past, near dead.. No young person would wish to join their workforces.

Absolutely people that have worked here for years and older in age have a Huge Target on them. They are first to have there names added to the HR Spreadsheets whenever they decide to innovate and let people go. You are lucky to be able to leave on your own and get out of this horrible place to work. With all the BS that Dell sends daily in emails and announcements about how progressive and forward thinking an entity the company is when it comes down to it all the company is trying to do is pay off a huge debt mountain they have been under for years. MSD and his Silver Lake backing have caused a company that could have been a decent place to work but is only driven by bean counters. When the only driving force is greed and money that will never happen. Every decision that is made is made by Spreadsheet management bean counters. You are so lucky to get out from under this horrible place that only wants employees that are low cost at any cost.
