Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I still miss the people who were laid off

I considered them friends. Since they left, I tried to stay in touch but my attempts have mostly been brushed off. I don't blame them. I know they're either busy or don't want to be reminded of this place in any way, and I'm a reminder. That doesn't make me not miss them, though. Fiserv is not the same without them.

I agree. I've been gone for a few weeks and I miss my team a great deal. I do keep in touch with many of them via text or a phone call here and there. The people are what made my job great for a while.

Being on a sinking ship is never easy. Hope y'all can get off soon.

“There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. Nations, cultures, arts, civilizations - these are mortal, and their life is to ours as the life of a gnat. But it is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snub and exploit - immortal horrors or everlasting splendors. This does not mean that we are to be perpetually solemn. We must play. But our merriment must be of that kind (and it is, in fact, the merriest kind) which exists between people who have, from the outset, taken each other seriously - no flippancy, no superiority, no presumption.”

I am living with a lot of ghosts too. Many of them I factor into decision making since our 'leaders' are awol.
