@fov — taking your advice. Applied for jobs yesterday and already got a call back for an interview. Advanced is blocked at Honeywell so time for new things. Even if I end up painting houses I will probably be happier than morning calls with China and evening calls with Penang.
The thing is even if you go work in the Honeywell office most of the people you are collaborating with are based in India or Mexico and so you are mostly on calls all day. So I don't agree you are more productive working in an office when it comes to Honeywell maybe at another company where all the work is done locally. This company is really desperate to get people back in the office not going to be surprised a lot of the top talented folks will leave once it's time to return.
Can I get the pick and place machine that I operate at work installed in my garage?
Maybe they will meet you half way and let you wear your pajamas & bunny slippers at work and play Candy Crush for 15 mins. every other hour.
I think that balance is key. There is benefit in team collaboration in the office but I do understand that at times working at home with little distraction can help improve productivity. Unfortunately (and don’t shoot the messenger) there are many studies that suggest productivity losses when working at home and clear metrics that reveal people away from their computers for hours on end. Don’t think the company is not monitoring that already.

That episode was a one-sided joke. They gave employers a platform to create the narrative around the great resignation that fits them. Suddenly, it's not money that's the issue, it's all these other things. What a joke.
