Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Bleeding talent

It looks like the talent bleed will not slow down until all talented people leave here and this remains a company only for those who cannot find another job?

I may be exaggerating, but it seems so to me now that almost all of my colleagues who were really good employees have left.

Yes, will watch focal results in March. If Intel will not help employees keep up with inflation and do the usual 2% spin...more bleeding will happen for sure.

Which talent? Sandra L, Rebecca W, finance VPs. Are they the ones you mean? Good riddance. Hope they will hire their friends.

You are pathetic.
You’re basically admitting to not giving your full time to Intel (who is paying for that time).

I hope you fail at life and sincerely doubt any good company would hire such a worthless immoral person.

Well connected people need only a couple of weeks too.

Competent people would only need a couple of weeks to brush up.

I guess if you need a year, you aren’t good enough and that’s why you’re still at Intel wallowing in mediocrity.

@1itd - Only if you are not good enough to apply to the better companies right away.

It takes significant effort (=time) to get a good offer. Sounds like you don’t even have a clue.

Or, you could go to a good company right away and not waste your valuable and limited time on this planet.

You are not appreciating something good about Intel though.

It gives you a nice warm nesting ground for preparing for interviews. It pays enough to clear the bills and standard benefits. You can land a pretty good company by staying here for an year fully focused in interview prep.

Not a bad deal if you ask me.

Intel rewards politicians, so the engineering talent fled and left Vijay and his two hundred cousins in charge.

How about when they couldn't even fill the CEO job.... if you can't even find a golden parachute CEO how can you retain talent.

If you are young and want to join a well managed company with bright future why would you hitch your career to the Titanic.

Think for a moment a company who’s base business is so broken the CEO runs around begging for government money, says it all about how bad it is

Isn’t it already like that?

How else can one explain all of the product slips and execution failures?

What was the root cause?
