Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Connected enterprise issues

It’s been going for a while but was in the background. Recently it has started to move slowly to the foreground.
The “New” CE CTO has been relying mostly on his directs being of his original country. As a result we have increased stagnation and politics by clearly incompetent CTOs within the segments of CE. Inaction abound within those, spinning and blaming. Maybe it was a mistake to bring back the CE CTO…. People are now mumbling that he has lost the trust of his teams mostly due to his own hires and lack of action but afraid to tell as revenge can be swift. Meanwhile we are back at spinning which means another rounds of layoff within 6 months as teams “underperform”

The most recent issue in connected is with connected industrial. New CTO there is still trying to find the toilet after 6 months of…. Nothing. Incompetent star snowed the top CTO so well we may have a harvard book about it
No wonder Que is in danger as those incompetent are focused on creating a pyramid of people from the same country. That said the guy only good thing is that he gave pointers on how to get your own fake CDC card…
We are so screwed!

Why would QD pay for the mistakes of those lower CTOs that just know spinning???

by

Post ID: @hsoh+1eO7DgH3

QD has many lives…. But clearly we heard on the grapevine they lack qualified people.
And above QD some are getting frustrated ….

Looks like QD is on the way out after the ongoing failure of forge and the connected entities. Word is the change will happen soon...
Never a dull moment in connected.

We are so fortunate in aero as we still are trying to avoid them although it's difficult. They seem to keep sending “drones” to make us dependant on their forge dreams. Never forget forge can burn you....playing with fire is always st-pid

@7wxg+
Probably meant CTO... Not CEO ?

Post ID: @7tam+1eO7DgH3

the main issue is HCE is not yet able to deliver on forge - if ever. Yet the SBG CEOs are incapable of taking care of the business. Instead they just want to make the SBG even more dependant on a forge that can only blow hot air.
No need to get an MBA to figure that out

Post ID: @7wxg+1eO7DgH3

what I saw in aero too is thatas long as you're from that geo location AND the caste of choice you're in.
That's why we lost many good people in HCE. They were from the right geo but wrong caste... Simple as that.
Is that same experience for others?

the issue is not that CTO of CE asking friends for staffing. It's the systematic pisight from the same geo area for top positions. That origin trumps everything....

I never got the irony of naming the product "forge" until now... a device specifically made to blow hot air. Perfect.

Like someone said...
CE software has been great at connecting toilets and flushing away any possibility of success. Some countries don't have toilets so I guess we are fortunate in some ways as we build a collection of them? That effort warrants a prize! (or layoffs for everyone except VPs / CEOs)

Post ID: @4uuq+1eO7DgH3

connected and its forge means having no strategy except selling air and bring down everyone else.
Honeywell can't make it work because there are major issues in the technology. it has become all about the art of blowing up Hindi smoke into
QD and DA.....

Mehul and his VPs friends from India are not trustworthy. Simple as that. Means one should not just blindly follow as you may just go round and round then eventually it all starts from zero again.
Que should act fast.... It's here we go again moment

life safety... not going well. That connected isn't working out. Management issue at the top

HCE is definitely the worst sbg you can work at in this company. Originally there was a lot of potential and we hired really good talent several years ago but every left. Now remaining is mostly the political people. I can see more layoffs coming soon especially because HCE folks are the ones with highest salaries. Especially anyone working in Forge I premise they will be RIFed first.

I'm not sure who runs the SRE program but it's just half arsed. Monitoring software half implemened due to license issues, some attempts to code around the issues costing $$$, and just no viable support presence other than chasing down someone in the IST time zone. It's quite a mess really.

It will all make a very interesting Harvard Business School case study at some point. From my perspective this all started post the Allied merger then the Bossidy and Cote era. I’m out now but have great memories of my many tears of employment there. It was a source of pride for me but now find myself a bit sad to see what’s happened even though I’m out.

we in safety products have the same kind of issues. We spin and spin and can't trust any of that VP BS. They seem to overtly just let marketing come up with the craziest ideas then blame execution. then the “answer” appears to fix this, which seems like it's mostly about staffing India as a priority.
Is our CEO aware of this short-term plan that will sink the company?
What's going on??? Is that just a long term plan or what??

Even connected industrial is now a sham like muliple people highlighted
The top CTO M. through his political gaming to foster incompetent VPs has created a distrustful environment that has impacted even forge. Everyone has to be cautious and evaluate what exactly is his majesty the maharajah M. goal and the depth of the screwing to come. Once again we are missing future business opportunities due to an untrustworthy ”leader” that values his original country above all else to staff. Horrible environment again

Post ID: @1ssj+1eO7DgH3

And how about that whole commercial excellence clan at HBT? No value! There are more leaders doing nothing than people in front of our clients. They are to arrogant to value anything coming from the very dedicated employees that made us the great business we once were.

Honeywell does not have anywhere near the cash or stomach to make a connected enterprise work. They need to pay for the best people ( ie compete directly with amazon google facebook microsoft etc) and the best hardware. That requires investments of 10s of billions. The R&D budget of honeywell is a joke compared to established players. GE invested far more than honeywell with a better market position.. and failed.

What I see from the inside of connected is a CTO that doesn’t focus on getting fast the staffing with effective people that can get going but instead is spending time looking for way to bring over people from India despite them being incompetent in VP roles
Clearly M is failing and QD must take action. Its not working out. We are going back to the bottom

I am in the material handling business segment and have had a few interactions with the connected group. I have hard time seeing connected bring any business value other than it sounds good on a power point presentation. It never amounts to anything that brings actual value to our customers. But maybe it does for other parts of the company...

Post ID: @tvm+1eO7DgH3

I had hopes when M. joined us but they have been fading fast. My group doesn’t really think he will get us where we need to be is. (He doesn’t even know that either) we have big issues at the CTOs level.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Honeywell has even really been serious about "connected" anything.

I've only seen constant flailing, half-measures, and throwing a bunch of stuff against the wall to see what sticks. I've never seen a consistent, focused strategy to any of it.
