Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Vaccine Mandate - AT&T is a private company?

I’m sure every employee saw the email and it states they are continuing to mandate the vaccine because they are private. Since when??? I always thought AT&T was a Public Company? Should I be contacting my lawyer for this?

Truth; My brother was fully vax'd and in the hospital last week with Covid Pneumonia. He was released this weekend as his oxygen levels were back to normal but still has pneumonia and could be another 3-6 weeks before he is better. While there he asked if this is normal as he is fully vax'd and they told him just as many vax'd as unvax'd breakthhrough cases. So I am not sure what to make of all of this.

Supreme court said the Government cannot mandate it which is why pork prices are coming down. AT&T is setting themselves up for big time trouble if they don't do it.

Supreme court said the Government cannot mandate it. I believe this leaves any company that does mandate this liable for any issues that come from said mandate.

I hope they took that into consideration on the medical law suit possibilities they have set themselves up for.

there will be repercussions. I hope senior management and management knows you cannot forgive people unless they admit they were wrong. live by the sword die by sword I guess.

we won't need attorneys.

You should have the first 2 , and then make certain you get the boosters at least twice each month until the end of time to satisfy the stank mandate.

That will put you "in" with the execs.

Although you still won't be protected from anything you can legitimately hold on to all of your fears of other people.

Boost, boost, boost !!!

do you think facuci will ever admit everything have done is wrong. not gonna happen in this lifetime.

besides it is only people's health who cares.

To all you folks who say the vaccine(s) do no good ... do you not pay attention to any of the major news networks, ABC, CBS, NBC who all show interviews with medical professionals citing that 90%+ of those dying in ICU's right now are those who were not vaccinated? No, the vaccine(s) are not perfect, yes, someone who is vaccinated may get infected and some may die, but by and large the real world evidence is that they reduce the severity of the illness and reduce the likelihood of death

You forgot the sarc tag. Fixed it for you

Please fire the nut jobs before getting rid of the vaccine mandate.

How many shots is anyone willing to get to be considered "fully vaccinated" ? Does the CDC determine this, do you allow AT&T to determine this? (Please don't say AT&T, the leadership has a history of bad decisions here lately). Where does it stop? I'm not antivax, but really, where does it stop, and who do you allow make those decisions for you?

Post ID: @2zon+1eRlDahI

I heard some rumors at AT&T will be dropping the mandate very shortly. Look at you fools now.

See you on the layoff list. Am glad that this id--t test is all that was needed to keep the rest of us safe from both their ignorance and getting laid off ourselves.

It is a public company because the shares are publicly traded.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/p/publiccompany.asp

It is however, not a business owned by the government. The shareholders choose the directors, who in turn designate who is the management, who then decides policy.

The only thing that has come down is, the government can't make AT&T require vaccinations. AT&T however, can require vaccinations all on their lonesome, and so far, courts are upholding a company's right to impose this requirement.

OP, is your level of ignorance that high that you don’t know the difference between a private and public company...good gracious! Yes, it is PUBLICLY traded on the NYSE, but it is still a privately run, privately managed company!

My wife works in the COVID unit. Here’s the facts about it. The unvaccinated are in ICU and not from a side effect of the vaccine. The vaccine side effects are not what’s filling up the hospital. The boosted aren’t in the hospital at all. These are the facts and why drs recommend it. Nothing more.

Fire those clowns. They have no place at AT&T and won't be missed. Can't happen soon enough.

They’re handing out exemptions to anyone willing to fill out the form. Am I missing something?

by

Post ID: @1pkj+1eRlDahI

Apparently these get the jab or quit clowns aren’t smart enough to realize that some states have banned the mandates & some states have laws requiring employers to honor exemptions.

so glad I work for a company does not force medical procedure on you.

coercion (taking someone's income away for a medical procedure) is against the law and in the end there will be consequences.

doesn't surprise me one bit att is doing it besides what the supreme court says.
I will remember this the next time I disagree with the court.

my advice is leave the company att thinks they are a great place to work in their own minds.

Post ID: @1zbs+1eRlDahI

Everybody is commenting all over the place, so let me sum it up..

ATT is a private company, except when it's not...

It is a publicly traded and publicly owned corporation.

It's telco companies are all public utilities.

Receives some funding from government taxation and the Universal Services Fund.

Is an arm of the government to provide access to the NSA for them to store meta-data on EVERY telephone call (landline or cellphone) placed or received in the USA, and access for the government to listen electronically for keywords deemed "dangerous" by the government as well as provides access to the NSA to record and store the contents of EVERY email (along with GTE, Century Telecom, NYNEX, Bell Atlantic and every other telco utility).

Is regulated by every Public Utility Commission in every city that they own the telco franchise.

This is just a small and well known list to show that:

It is a private company, except when it's not.
