Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Video "discount" prices are out

I had Directv steam since launch, discount is now reduced to zero. Simple decision, count me in for a cancel. Just loving how competitive these employee benefits are.

I submitted my decision form to cancel the DirecTV Stream today. After filling out my name, ATTUID, Account number, cancellation choice and clicking on Next button, the screen showed “DIRECTV STREAM (formerly AT&T TV Now….) - Video decision form(must completed by 2/23/2022)” in green and “prev” and “Submit Survey” buttons. I clicked on “Submit Survey” button but the next screen did not show any questions for survey. So I just exited. Tried 3 times in different browsers, the results were all the same. Can someone confirm with me that I have completed submitting my cancellation form? Thanks.

people seem to be overlooking the upside for employees. Unlimited DVR included instead of $10/mo extra

Was anyone actually surprised by this? It was known this was coming since last fall! What will the next benefit reduction be?

If you cancel before end of billing cycle, you will forfeit any of your prepaids. Years ago they would prorate your bill, not anymore.

This should come as no surprise. Santone clearly stated that T bennies are way over the top as compared to other companies. Expect bennies to continue to decrease in the future. As Stankey states "no one is safe", while Santone states "no benefit is safe". What great leadership we have at T.

Here is the d-mb mentality, price goes from $10 to $80 for basic streaming, they could maintain same revenue if 87% of people cancel.

If the discount was at 50%, $40, more people will likely keep the account and even increase overall revenue. But that isn’t the ATT way, it is the race to the bottom and they want you to cancel.

It’s the same on the mobility side, we didn’t do well because lack of aggressive offers over the holidays while the competition had very compelling offers. Well, whose genius decision was that??

Sent the intention to cancel.

Via Survey Monkey. Just shaking my head and chuckling to myself. Survey Monkey. Like we're in a play group signing up for snack duty.

I cannot imagine for the life of me who would keep this product at those prices.

Since I am out of a bundle with my cable provider as I didn't need the cable TV, I'll simply sign up for a new bundle with them, upgrade my internet at the same time and won't be paying much more than I am now for just the internet and phone. For a couple years anyway, then will have to do the dance with them.

I didn't mind the DirecTV product too much, but it did cut out during heavy rainstorms and wet snow would stick to the dish as well, which was a pain.

I'd love to see the final numbers on employees/ retirees that they lose, but we never will. It's got to be at least 75% I would think.

I suspect this means a deal is done to have it bought by another provider. They no longer need to subs if the ink is dry.

I retired end of Nov 2021 and mine still shows 10 dollars for the next bill for DTV Stream was the letter geared at Direct TV subscribers and not the streaming ones? It's probably coming soon I am sure

"Yes, but will that actually work? No confirmation sent. They just pretend you did not fill it out properly and charge you! Slamming is the T way! "

It's a Survey Monkey survey that collects your name, UID, and account number. No email address is collected.

If you don't get a confirmation before the change date, it's easy enough to check up. Do you know how to use a calendar reminder?

"I notice Ratbert did not make it easy to cancel DTV service.

What is the quickest way of getting rid of it without the usual telephone run around?

They actually did make it easy. Follow the link in the email to either change or cancel service effective in Feb. I cancelled, it took less than 30 seconds."

I assume you have to remove that ugly dish from your roof yourself and dispose of it? What do they ask you to do with the boxes/dvr/modems? Return them at your expense? I see no option to go to streaming with a discount if you had the dish service? What a load of BS as AT&T spirals down

Post ID: @1dqt+1eSJUZIM

Continue to fight back and cancel all AT&T services, tell family and friends to do the same, post the evils of T on all social media you use, cut back your work hours and effort, use all time off including the allotment for care of others, etc. AT&T doesn't care about employees, shareholders or customers. Time to layoff AT&T and cut their benefits

HBOMax for free goes away after the deal with Discovery is finalized. Not a company worth working for!!! Stinky and Santone are having a pajama party tonight and celebrating how they are sticking it to the employees. Layoff eith severance would be a blessing at this point

Another move by AT&T executive suite to drive out employees. Santone is inept, incompetent and spineless. I switched to TMobile for wireless over 13 years ago and glad to be away from AT&T's poor customer service. DTV was worth 10 bucks a month but will drop my last AT&T service and next stop: RETIREMENT!!! and good riddance to SBC aka AT&T

About 4 channels that I watch. I have to DVR them due to 29 minutes of commercials per 1 hour episode. $120 bucks a month?? Good bye DTV.

Question for me is we own 70% percent of the company still but we don’t get the tv discount the 30% they sold does?? Also I don’t have the uverse in my area but that went away as well just weird overall for your people another raise in cost and less in pocket like inflation!

Alternatives? depends on what you watch, but check out: frndly TV or Philo TV or Youtube TV or a half dozen others, just use a web search engine for streaming services

I get HBOMAX thru wireless. Access via app on TV. No issues.

Post ID: @1lyz+1eSJUZIM

hey at least some of you will get your top tier fiber internet for $10 bucks a month now and get to keep HBOMAX for free. i have fixed wireless because they spent 30 million on fiber cable and ran out of CAF money so they installed cr---y fixed wireless. ever tried to stream on fixed wireless. ditching that this summer for a competitors gbe ftth that they only spent 2 million for the whole county.

Since HBOMAX is through the DirecTv stream account and will be canceled after the discount is removed can we still get the HBOMAX free through the mobility ?

Let's put aside the greatly reduced discount aside for a second, we all knew that was coming.

There is the 7 page faqs in small font, and you need to fill out a Survey Monkey form to keep or cancel your account, don't forget to dig up the account number. This is exactly what is wrong this company. While most of us are engineers by trade, this level of complexity beyond insanity. No big surprise the younger generations wants nothing to do with a TV subscription. It is about entertainment, not small print. They just don't get it in their f@#$ing heads.

there it is folks at 4 PM as she walks out the building , Santone bologne delivers the good news. Can't wait to see the numbers next quarter as dtv subscriptions take a bigger nose dive. wonder what AT&T benefits those at Directv are losing now? surely they no longer get a mobility discount or a discount on any other T products.
