Nike should address the disparity between low tier VP to E. Outrageous what the bottom of the top VP level makes just “coaching.” Retention bonuses, chunks of stock worth millions, psp, and additional bonuses you don’t even want to know about. The E and S bands will rebuild this dumpster fire if they stay and should be compensated for it stat!!
Engineer II - $120k
on me portal u can see your direct reports market salary range. some are on the low end, some are on the high end. makes u wonder where u are and if u should've negotiated more. nike tends to lowball new hires but it depends on the person pushing for more, but this is hard to know sometimes so people are scared to ask for more. pay also largely depends on where you live and local market conditions.
in the usa, for u bands, manager level, u should be making 100k/yr base with some making over $150k/yr base because they are based in an expensive city but actually got a bargain because they wfh most if not all the time in a neighboring state or cheaper city. different functions also affect pay, if you are in a supporting function then you won't be earning as much as someone equal to you in sports mkt.
for e bands director level you should be making at least $150k/yr base.
if your direct report makes as much as you then you need to fight for better pay. people's managers will say because someone is more senior so even if they report to you they should get paid more - this is a trap and clearly undervalues your worth. don't take that for an answer and push for more pay. if they don't care to increase your remit then start looking elsewhere because you're not valued in that org.
if u want to feel bad then yes, your total comp will be less than tier 1 companies (nike is not on that very short list - think alphabet)

This TC is much lower than outside friends in tech are making. Will leave soon.
$80k in marketing. I'm underpaid for what I do so I'm applying elsewhere.
You can ask your manager where you are within the range.

Good for you - progressive post! And boo to the guy who doesn’t support equal pay with a flippant 👎
