I gave my notice

I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my chest.

I left last fall after being recruited from a smaller health system. I now work on a team that's twice the size of the one at Ascension, doing the same job, for double the pay. I've also gleaned that folks that have been at Ascension for a long time aren't making much more than what I left at. I loved my team and manager and even director. Those executives announcing layoffs every year and saying they can't do raises just became too much. If you're not ready to job search yet, at least put that "open to work" flag up on your LinkedIn profile and let the opportunities come to you. There is life after Ascension and you deserve better.

Good for you! You see it and you're doing something about it! Need more like you!

I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 directors for every 1 extended partner employee.

Those who are still employed by AT at this point gotta know their number is up soon.

Get out of there!

Seen others around me give notice too, I know I did recently as well. Won't mention exactly, but I'm out of here soon too.
People are jumping off this sinking ship and all I can say is leadership will reap what they sow.

I'd love to say their day will come, but sadly the salaries and bonuses they have gotten and will get won't result in any financial hardship like it would the rest of us when we get fired.

Maybe in the afterlife there's a place for them. I suspect it'll be warm.

Not that I'm not scared, but it's worth it.
