Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I just received an offer from AT&T

for an IT job with a $15k signing bonus and title as Senior Specialist.
Anyone have info on usual signing bonus. Should I hold out for more?
Starting pay is $125k - seems a little low.
Comments?

In my time at T (I left 2 weeks ago), I wasn’t able to get my salary up to the mid point of my range (Level 2). It was recalibrated over time, but trust me it’s difficult to advance your salary on 1 to 2% annual raises which don’t keep up with inflation. And they cut the bonus amt down.

You got ripped off. They hired me off the street @ $200k just to be your boss.

Raises are 1-2%, son. And that’s for top 10% exceeds, which being a newbie, you would not likely be. No manager would mislead you to believe in 5 years you would hit anything close to that number. But keep that $175k dream alive, though.

if you keep doing the needful you should be worth at least 200k in 5 years. i wouldn't settle.

No, no it is "KINDLY do the needful"! What are you? Some uncultured heathen. Whats next, are you going to complain about fe--s on the floor due to our "diverse" work force.

Not all Lead's are Level 3 as as the majority are Level 2 depends on the title.

Thanks for the replies. From the posts I gather that the bonus & starting salary are good.
I was told that tops for my position is $175k and that I can expect to achieve this sum in approximately 5 years.
I've accepted the job.
Thanks to all that helped me make this decisionl.

This reply drips of a Shudra or Dalit employee with an H1B visa.
Who the h__l says I can expect a sum of 175K?

OK dude, whatever your English is passable but not good enough to hide the fact that you are H1B . Work on the dysentery in your own Country first.

@hsl+1eVcYyvb, levels don't mean much when the salary range between high and low can been 100k. OP, post your job title and business unit, someone can help you find more details.

Do you have any other options? I would accept if I had nothing else, needed a job, and continued to keep looking.

IT title salary range titles are much higher than typical. Better check career intelligence again before calling the OP a liar.

Sounds like a typical Ratbert move pay the new hires more just to p!ss on those who have been here and will end up training their replacements. Just remember what goes around comes around. I call BS.

run - run far away. do not even consider working at att no matter what the money. you will be so much happier not working here. there are so many better managed companies than att you will not regret not working there trust me I worked there 18 years and have been to two companies since and I would go back to the two companies in a heartbeat but I would never go back to att no matter what kind of money they would throw at me. please do not look at the money just RUN RUN FAR AWAY.

I was a SR Specialist for 13 yrs there and left at 97k so I claim BS - its a 1B position doing 2nd level work and underpaid in both salary and bonus. They would give me the KCA every year due to embarrasment

Sr. Specialist is title for college hires. This is a joke or you are being low balled by HR. If you are offered 125k plus signing bonus, you can get way more else where.

Since the OP obviously doesn’t understand TCP (Technical Career Pathway) roles, I have posted the management levels below. These are only the management levels. There are over a dozen disciplines with multiple individual contributor roles (job titles) within each.

Associate - IC1 (Management Level = 1)
Specialist - IC2 (Management Level = 1A)
Sr. Specialist - IC3 (Management Level = 1B)
Professional - IC4 (Management Level = 2)
Senior - IC5 (Management Level = 2)
Principal - IC6 (Management Level = 2)
Lead - IC7 (Management Level = 3)
Distinguished - IC8 (Management Level = 4)

Sr Specialist salary range isn't that high troll

Post ID: @iku+1eVcYyvb

No such thing as a “signing bonus” for TCP jobs dude and Senior Specialist is a an IC3 level (1B Management Level) job. The TSR max does not go that high for a Senior Specialist position in ANY discipline (there are a lot). You are on here straight up lying my friend.

Dude, that is very low offer. Compared to Stinky pay and amount of workload and responsibility you will be underpaid. It is a rip off.

You should RUN - not walk away from Toxic T. Go elsewhere and get double that. Avoid the Megalomaniac Stink!
