I really can’t believe that hard work doesn’t pay off at all and that in the end only those who are favorites of their bosses are promoted. I don't want to believe that this is always the case, even though I haven't been able to get a promotion for a long time, despite all my efforts. Has anyone here been promoted to share their experience? What does it take to get promoted?

Woman is the new black. Diversity scorecard rules. If you don't help the scorecard, you're not moving anywhere.
Pucker up buttercup, you need to put on that brown lipstick. 🍑😗
Start your own company and do things the right way. They have so much money here that they pay people to run statistics and tell them how to run their company under the latest trends whether it is right or wrong. Hard work does not pay off.
Blatant nepotism is destroying this company. Managers have no clue what’s going on. Zero critical thinking skills cause they’re given these positions not earned.
If you want to get promoted and are not a favorite, you will have to make sure get noticed and ensure leadership has a positive perception of you. Let your DM know you want to get to the next step and ask what competencies you have not met yet and what you can do to get them met (better yet provide suggestions on how you think you can get there). Having a specific position in mind that is not hogged by a busybody or favorite or new person also helps.
It's always been that way, hard work is the last thing that matters. It's who you know and who you blow...literally.
I’m leaving this toxic dump of a company soon. Got the best promotion anyone can ask for - an external one. Only three and half years here has left me drained. I’ve massive anxiety, health issues and severe emotional stress wrought on me mostly by the toxic culture of this miserable place. Bye bye PepsiCo! See you on the other side.
Join the Frito-cest and start Frito-laying around! It seems like the most effective way to move up!
(May be time to join the Great Reshuffle...for your sake)
I am a current favorite and I did receive a promotion from this.
However, my workload is unbearable. Many of my peers have lessor workloads. Im so loaded down now that I will appear incompetent. I’ll soon fall from favorite status.
I cannot believe how much work I have. And I’m stuck.
Qualifications don’t matter. observed many “internally slated” employees given positions over qualified applicants both internal & external because we “do favorites” here.
