Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

Does it seem right that AIG lays off workers, provided NO raises to employees, but they keep expensive sports tickets?

Funny... You guys still have holiday parties. Ours stopped a couple years before the pandemic. We may get a lunch once or twice a year, but that's about it. I seriously doubt that returns after the pandemic either.

Amen to that post below… no one gives a damn about all these gimmicks. Pay your people well and let them grow, which allows them to work harder and make the company more money. If they’re so scared about overpaying and getting slackers.. the slackers will reveal themselves through their work. It’s a no brainer.. we’re all adults here and don’t need to be babysat. So I’m not sure why AIG employees are getting paid so bad compared to the market.. i mean really, we are a very wealthy company that has turned around. Give us a damn good raise!!

AIG tries to swoon you with “best culture, laid back, dinner, game events, it shouldn’t be about the money, you won’t get anything like this at another company”.. i don’t give a damn. the holiday parties and sports tickets don’t pay the bills and let me live a better life personally. I work to live not live to work. So yeah, I’d like to get nice raises and promotions because all my buddies in other companies / industries are getting those sweet raises and promotions while i say “hey we got a cool holiday party as a reward for our hard work this year”. AIG needs to realize they are loosing talent not because it sucks working here but because AIG doesn’t know to compensate their employees well or provide growth.. otherwise this company wouldn’t be so bad!
