The EODAS production and R&O lines in Mason have been shutdown. After years of technicians and support engineers reports of problems falling on deaf ears - it finally came out that EVERY UNIT produced since 2019 has an out of specification displacer in the cryo-cooler. Guess that solved the question of why the Director of Manufacturing just gave notice! Probably wasn't the smartest nice to dremel those wrist pins on the Qual units then "accidentally" destroy the evidence!
This is a HUGE problem- the kind of blatant fraud that can bring down a company. Did no one in mgmt ever wonder why Pasadena made coolers ran for 20k hours while Mason coolers were breaking after 20? Guess not as long as those fat rework bonuses were rolling in. 80-90% fallout during testing? Oh, right - it's because the $17 hr techs are messing things up. Just retest until it passes then ship it out and ignore when the same units that left production in August are in for repair by October.
Heads should roll for this - and EVERY last one of them is deserved.
