This happened to me last year when I moved in October. I think the old group has more say over your bonus amount since you were with them most of the year and unfortunately some take that money out of your pool and give it to employees who are still in the group to reward & keep them. I remember your pain from my last year experience.
A couple years back, this happened to me. I asked my manager if my bonus was prorated and I was only receiving a bonus for the portion of the year I was on his team. He said yes. I explained that the new team is responsible for paying the entire year’s bonus. He researched and confirmed I was correct. I received the rest of my bonus on the next paycheck. I debated saying anything to my manager. I’m glad I did.
I’m not sure if this is your scenario, but it’s worth looking into.
Mine was so terrible it left me in tears and I could barely discuss anything with my manager. Took a new position 3/4 through the year with a 20% wage increase and jump in target bonus, but was given a bonus of $1000 less than last year. It wasn't even 10% of my previous salary. My performance rating? Exceeds. Explain this to me.
