@mcg+1edxolul with all those new fabs, TMG would be too big to sell- Too much sunk cost.

"In August 2010, Intel and Infineon Technologies announced that Intel would acquire Infineon's Wireless Solutions business. Intel planned to use Infineon's technology in laptops, smart phones, netbooks, tablets and embedded computers in consumer products, eventually integrating its wireless modem into Intel's silicon chips." [Wikipedia]

Intel's modem team (forget the division's acronym) was acquired from Infineon, and later sold to Apple so they can develop their own modem, after the complete and utter failure of Intel's 'solution'.

The biggest sale in a few years is going to be TMG but there won’t be any buyer as similar to GF no fool would buy that piece of fab junk when the failures are exposed on the next few nodes of lies. Intel will need to offer it up and 20B in cash at a minimum and I suspect US government will have to take it over for National Security reason and than the destruction of Intel will be complete, thanks to PSO, BK, Bob and Pat, Larry, Curly, and Moe with Grim Reaper at the end.

Basis watch - Intel had to recall and buy back all units because they were defective. Another stupid buy that wasted money. And who can forget the "contra-revenue" fiasco of paying IHVs to take the craptastic tablet SOCs. Billions down the drain.
