Private cloud is doing great and thriving. Any version of the private cloud that originally came out of DST was likely a pile of junk. A bunch of mid-west hill billies trying to build technology is not a good recipe. Do what you folks know best and get back in bed with your sisters.

How many versions of the private cloud has there been in the last 10 years....
The first I remember was named "rain forest" it was going to be the solution to an aging and expensive AWD data center. Great PowerPoint presentation, short (very short) on delivering much needed functionality and savings.

AWD was a viable product with many multi-year clients. However, when the corporate (DST) honchos decided to take control and gutted the development teams, thinking there wasn't any value in system knowledge, the product (AWD) started to suffer. The corporate honchos could develop a nice PowerPoint slide deck, but wasn't able to deliver needed functionality. Smoke and mirrors only goes so far. Also, when you watch the creative/development talent leave the building you know the future isn't bright, just a slide into mediocrity.
