Unless you have an employment agreement/contract, you're employee at whim/will. And have VERY few if any employment rights. usa, usa
People are being told but it is never in large quantities. It’s a trickle to avoid the federal law that provides for staff under massive layoffs. Some are just being terminated too. No severance.
In true MOPtum fashion, they will probably wait until Christmas Eve to have layoffs
