Was driving past a local Panda Express here in the Midwest. There was a sign in the window advertising their pay. I wasn’t close enough to read what jobs were open, but I could clearly see $15 and $23… the latter being what I make after 10+ years at WF, and after a number of job hops and promotions. As they say, “Started from the bottom now we… still pretty da*n close to the bottom.”
I’ve also seen the internal minimum catching up to me quickly, although I’ve never personally benefited from it. Still, I’m happy for those that did benefit, and I don’t REALLY want to be a manager at Panda Express. It’s just sad that a company like ours isn’t willing to be market leaders on pay (or much of anything, really).
