As a non-AT&T employee, I am embarrassed for you all. What WAS that?

What bugged me is that he called it a "Holiday Tree". There is no such thing as a "Holiday Tree". It is a Christmas tree. The Christmas tree tradition started in the 16th century when devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes. Why is everyone scared to say "Christmas tree" or Merry Christmas? Very disturbing. Reminds me of a few seasons ago where my VP said we had to remember that our Christmas Party could not be called as such as we could only say Holiday Party and not to mention "Christmas". I think everyone in this country should celebrate any religious or otherwise holiday they want and all can or can not celebrate as they want...Can't re-write history with the Christmas Tree. I agree Clipper reference was pretty gross if in fact there was any underlying message...pretty sadistic,

This is pretty much inline with all the fireside chat bs, as if these big whigs had any wisdom with part with the masses. It’s funny, all the blusters about people neeed to seriously add value to earn the near zero raises, and Stank and his pu--y performance. Way to set an example.

I don't think he was drunk. I think it's impossible for him connect to people who work for him. Those that are in his close circle are either afraid to tell him to stop with the foolish videos because they have their own designs for their career or stay silent and wish him to carry on with this foolishness because they too have their own designs. Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies closer.
I think this is why we've experienced a number of bizarre corporate communications from our CEO.

His image consultants probably told him he needed to humanize his image after all the negative comments he has made toward employees. Clearly he hired the wrong people to help him do that. The "papa bear" jammies is just creepy.

He is an expert at embarrassing himself but is too much a narcissist to realize it. He doesn't care what you think about him, he's patting himself on the back for a wonderful video while Santone drools watching her her and dreaming about being with him on stage

This....
"Stop hating on Stankey. Have faith in the man. He will turn the company around. Meanwhile, enjoy being well paid as workers put up with your incessant whining."

Well, he is the mastermind of multiple purchases totaling over 200 billion, yet somehow he is a master negotiator that will turn the company around ????
C'mon, stop it.
Company needs to replace the entire lineup of C level executives and the entire board, then the company will start a significant turn around.

The lack of self awareness is just breathtaking.

Remarkable that he saw fit to issue a veiled threat (clippers) in a holiday video?

Would somebody please upload this to Twitter?

Seen it time and time again. CEO's retire, dead within a few years. Very few make it into their 80's. They have a boatload of money they can never spend. Makes for a great inheritance for the kids, grandkids, great grandkids, great great grandkids!

Anyone remember John Donavan’s last web video? It was some weird business book revue thing but it was almost incoherent and he genuinely looked unwell. Whole video was him and some hanger on that served him softball questions that got softer the more he whiffed them. He was gone in about a week. That’s the video bar JS has to beat.

"Amazing, no one in his inner circle, had the STONES to tell him, this is a bad idea! "

Even if some were to risk their career to tell him, do you really think he would listen? He is the smartest man in every room he has ever sullied with his presence. Don't forget this is the guy who knows more about TV than HBO.

THANK YOU to whoever posted the link. I am retired, so cannot view it on the company intranet.

Seeing that video reassures me that I might the right decision by leaving. This company continues to sink to new depths.

Truly a psychopath. He could not even make a friendly "holiday" video without a nasty slap in the face to the employees. "I wonder what these clippers are for." hint hint -- to cut your jobs!

I still don't get the big deal with the "I'll shave my head" thing.

You were bald. You're still bald.

Apparently, no one has the nerve to tell the man this.

So... he's going to shave that little bit of hair on the side of his head down?

Outrageous.

This is the new schtick. Funny, irreverent Stank. Highly paid consultants have clearly gotten to him re: how he is perceived by his employees.

Yes, this is the same man that just last year at this exact time sent a Seasons Greetings and thank you email urging his employees to leave before they are laid off, which was probably imminent.

Yet more evidence of the echo chamber of hosannas at 208 S. Akard: "Brilliant idea Mr. Stankey! Put on a Rudolph nose and novelty Jammies. Everyone will gain deep respect for you. Show your funny side." Nobody ever tells that man anything he doesn't want to hear. If this arrogant simpleton wants to look like a fool, who is gonna risk their career to stop him? It amazes me how desperate "leadership" is to distract us from the DTV and TW debacle. Well, Papa Bear you ran the company into the ground. Congratulations.  Novelty jammies and a Rudolph nose won't fix that. Sacrificing your dignity won't make people like or respect you.

Well, I thought it was funny. I was hoping he would pull out a Christmas bonus surprise for all his employees, but no. Most of us got 0 of them spot bonuses throughout the year and with no IPI like I used to get, seems like a pay cut to me.

Not drunk. Just some one trying to give him a softer , gentler appearance so people might like him ( or at least not hate him). The problem is, he is just so unnatural trying to pull it off. He should go back the animated version oh himself.
