Thread regarding Rite Aid Corp. layoffs

63 stores are closing

Rite Aid is closing 63 stores. I'm wondering, was everybody really offered a position in another location, or is that just bull they're saying to avoid bad publicity? I really hope it's true, but something tells me there's a catch.

They always transfer people to a nearby store, but if you are part time the way they are cutting hours I don’t know how much that will help

Let's just hope that any potential Golden State closures are in the low single digits.I'm still hopeful my Sunrise Village store(which did update its exterior signage last holiday season)gets a sorely needed remodel(which hasn't happened in 18 years when it got a 'Rite Choice' repaint)which resolves the shelved-off rear corner aisles resulting from non-core merchandise categories being systematically reduced or phased out entirely. Not to mention that Southern California has seen more Rite Aid closures the past couple years than NorCal anyway, because 4 years is still too soon for anther store closure in my books.
