Vaccine Mandated

Well, apparently Oxy is joining the “forced vaccine” crowd. I received word yesterday that we have until March 4 to become fully vaccinated. It isn't the entire company, just our department. Curious if this is going on anywhere else here.

These Vaccines and boosters will not save us. Hopefully it will burn itself out. I'm vaccinated including fully boosted and willing to test but with an at home test there are a lot of false negatives and false positives. Then if we need to rely on testing, shouldn't it be done every single day? Working from home is the best solution because it doesn't require so much extra work to be done in order to finally reach a physical location to then start doing the work that needs to be done for Oxy. The work for Oxy CAN effortlessly be accomplished from a remote location because of technology.

Wrong Einstein! The only way to keep Covid to a minimum in the office is WFH, which we'll be doing into February based on current models.

There are positive vaccinated people and testing all helps everyone. I want positive either way to know so they don't come to the office. That is the only way to keep Covid to a minimum in the office.

Name one company or organization who is testing vaccinated people.

When we return to work I hope Oxy provides testing for all. Both vaccinated and unvaccinated can get and transmit Covid, so for me I would like everyone to test. I am vaccinated and will be more than happy to test.

Even Montana has legalized ca--abis. It is time to change Texas politics and to throw Abbot and his cronies out of office. They do not represent the masses here in Texas and certainly don’t represent women in woman’s rights. Down with Trump too. He is the worst person to ever be born here in the US.

@9dym+, so you are concerned only with “Covid in the unvaccinated”? What about in the vaccinated? No concern there I guess? Can’t catch it from them cause they can’t get it. Also, I assume you are not vaccinated or else why you be concerned at all. Last shutting down the economy has really helped in NYC right. They’ve got it all under control there.

@9dzf+1eqsU1BC Plus there are many states you can go get you high on without recourse. Go to one of them as soon as possible. If you are an adult and pot being legal is the biggest thing to you. Then grow the he-l up.

@9dzf+1eqsU1BC - Don't let the door hit you in the a-s when you leave. Please take your a-s out of the state as soon as possible. At least Texas is a free state and not some communist state like California or New York. Why would anyone want a state to tell them what to do is beyond me. We are all big boys and girls and can get the vaccine if we want. Just because you have the vaccine does not mean you can't get Covid or transmit Covid. If anything the vaccine helps us from being able to stay out of the hospital and from serious illness, but please if you need to be led by your nose ring please get out of our free state you loser. People in power want to keep the power and all this is becoming is a power play by the politicians. As well the head doctor, politicians, and CDC have been all over the map and turned their noses at natural immunity and therapeutics. The virus is here to stay and there are other ways instead of the vaccine to fight it. Until the powers to be admit that they are just spinning their wheels trying to force a vaccine mandate that will be shutdown by the Supreme Court in the next few weeks we are all at the mercy of id--ts. There are many roads that will take you out of Texas, so get on one and get the he-l out of here.

Unfortunately because we live in Texas, the most backward state in the country, one can generally not partake legally.

Covid in the unvaccinated has more consequences beyond the individual. Covid is contagious and impacts other people. The real disturbing problem is that covid is impacting our ability to make money on airline and cruise line stocks. The unvaccinated have completely screwed up the opening back up of society.

@8rkf+1eqsU1BC Do you even have a soul? I guess everyone should do and act exactly as you think to follow your policies. You fit well into our current society of following the herd.

Why are you so concerned about the unvaccinated. The vaccine works so what are you so afraid of? Most people I know that have had Moricron are vaccinated.

Why should society keep paying for the id--ts who do not get vaccinated. Unvaccinated people should be denied medical treatment for covid and just sent off to a big facility to gasp for breaths until they die a horrible death. Let’s not even pay for oxygen for these people who are taking society down.

Looks like the vaccine is not keeping people from getting vaccinated, but it does look like it sure keeps people from getting really sick. For many of us that is good enough reason to get vaccinated. But to mandate a vaccination seems wrong since it does not prevent Covid. Those that want to take the chance and not get vaccinated then that is in them. I have come to the conclusion if the vaccine keeps me from getting deadly sick I will keep taking the shots, but that is on me.

@4awu, those disagreeing with you must think that either 1) we will have Covid (or something) forever justifying WFH forever or 2) Covid is almost over requiring a short extension of WFH and we shouldn’t rush back to the office just yet.

OR, they like working in their PJs and don’t like the fact that you make a logical argument against it.

Hint- I think it’s the last explanation.

Great thinking on the part of the company to have a mandate. The covid variant waves will keep coming and you cannot continue the work from home nonsense and still have a viable corporation.

What if they don’t get it. Are they told to get lost? The company has been patient for so long but enough is enough. Time to crack down on those not engaged.

I never understand these mandates, and in your case putting a two month time frame on it. It seems the prudent thing to do would be get vaccinated as soon as possible if the vaccine is available. If vaccines are going to be required then get it by Feb 1 return to work. Makes no sense to wait.
