Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

I'm determined to make the next year my last at Cenovus

The company has changed too much since I started nine years ago. I kept hoping that things would improve once again, but now even I have to admit that that's not happening, at least not any time soon. I think it's time to admit defeat and start looking for something better.

It is my understanding that CVE and other companies no longer offer voluntary packages as it sets a precedent. They would rather you either resign or wait your turn to walk to the plank.

The whiners posting here who won’t leave are the true cancer on this company.

Try and get a package. Everyone that has endured more than 5 years in that he-l ho-e should be compensated. Such an evil and horrible company. Try and get your package. But yeah bottom line. Get out. That place is cancer. That comment above was so true.

I am too! Just waiting for my bonus. I am already in talks with our neighbour. A friend just got hired by them. Same style of camp, same pay and a better work environment. They are also looking for more staff.

Defintely not true that every company has the same issues

6 months into the new office and its a world of difference.

Cenovus is cancer.

I had a Skype call with my family from Ontario on Xmas Day, and the topic of our industry, and company came up. I told that them it has been incredibly difficult on the majority of Albertans, and they were sympathetic because they are some of the rare ones who get it.

I also told them that the industry needed a shakeup because there are a ton of arrogant overpaid a-holes who desperately needed to be humbled. People making twice what they were actually worth. The jerks with a short shelf life who wore out their welcome and were kicked to the curb. The ones who thought the good times would never end, and bought a second property, new cars, quads, jet skis, snowmobiles, 2x vacations/year.

Also told them that its still the engine that drives the country. Outside of criminal real estate buying up property. Fully expect this to be downvoted but it is sadly the truth. Happy New Year!

Every company has same issues. You cannot avoid it. There’s no ideal company out there. It’s a reality

I get a kick out of seeing the middle managers and some low level types still playing the political game. It's like they are still standing on the Titanic listening to music or are trying to climb back on. The vitriol and backstabbing is usually a massive turnoff, but given the present nature of our company, it's lovely to see these rats scurrying for the biggest piece of moldy cheese. Mo--ns.

Sometimes a job is a job. If you derive your entire satisfaction from work life there’s something seriously wrong with you. Let these management fools and backstabbing ambitious types trip over each for scraps.

Why do all these posts sound like they are written by the same person?
