I'm tired of having to do a lion's share of their work for none of their pay. If you promote somebody and give them a raise, the least you can do is make sure they know what they're doing. Although, who am I kidding. We all know that being good at your job is not on the list of requirements for managers. Kissing the right butts and not rocking the boat are.

Training, we don't need no stinking training.
To first train managers you must have good examples. Unfortunately those are in extremely short supply here.
“Train managers properly”
Why not reduce the number of managers? They do almost nothing of value anyway. Calling/attending virtual meetings, forwarding emails, and approving expenses are about all management does in any company. On many teams there are more managers than contributors, and many managers have few (if any) direct reports. Offer them contributor positions or show them the door.
Why would EM staff jobs based upon capability when we all know staffing based off potential is the way to go. Just look at Permian BU.
You may want to send your inquiry to the CLO gang lead by F@nelli. They can tell you how they intend to train people (by sourcing jobs out) at XOM.
Yes agree with you. Come and look at management in Delaware Basin it’s a joke starting from team leads.
Choo Choo...
What do you want them to be trained at?
Managers do not under go training, rather, EM elects to use the time honoured “spine removal” technique. This is particularly effective on those poacher turned game keepers types.
