Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I would rather agree to a lower payment

I don't feel like going back to office at all. There are many reasons, starting with the fact that I see absolutely no rational reason for that because I am much more productive when I work from home ... all the way to wasting time in traffic jams every day. As far as I'm concerned, I'd rather agree to a lower pay than go back to the office.
Anyone else?

Lower pay? No.
Sure, I'm saving on gasoline for the commute, but my water bill and electricity have gone up at home. I also had to start paying for internet access that I didn't need before, in order to do my job.
All that said, I do NOT want to go back into an office. Not having that 1+ hour stressful commute makes me a happier person.

We are getting lower payments, inflation the past few years has vastly outpaced "meets expectations" % increases. Keep that in mind when your employer expects you to take increased workload covering people that left, and when they think they have leverage to make demands about WFH or in office.

The idea of WFH being a privilege or reward is as old school as my company laptop. It's the new normal and the way forward. You should never agree to lower pay and especially to further line the pockets of tone-deaf "leaders" who pretend flexible work arrangements aren't legit.

I'd agree to a pay cut from a different company.

If the company does not find a way to sc--w you on this, look for the govt to do so at some point in the future. I do not know about you, and I do not mean to sound like I am complaining, WFH has costs e.g. extra space dedicated to an office, heating and cooling, water, electricity, more internet capacity, office furniture, etc. Again not complaining as I love working from home, my point is that it is not free to the employee and I do not want a pay cut.

WFH saves the company money! No way you should go lower. Work product is what you are paid for, and you should not devalue it. In my job search for a Remote position, I’ve found that I’m grossly underpaid, office or remote! My cube will be up for reassignment very soon.

People have to stop buying the lie that WFH is a benefit. It costs the company nothing and, if they reduced their real estate presence, WFH would save them money. Look at it a different way: given two employees doing the same job, the WFH employee should get a bonus, given the money they're saving the company.

Bottom line: stop arguing from the position that WFH is a benefit.

Why get paid less for doing the same work? They already underpay as it is.

I am never going back in. It won't be safe anytime soon. Also, people are mentally exhausted from working during this pandemic and we know damn well productivity has been high despite what lies HR sends out. I am not adding a commute, cubes, and office bu-----t if covid is ever over.

If I'm a taking a paycut then I'm also taking a work cut. If they really want people back in office then they need to increase everyone's pay by at least 25%. I'm not sitting in traffic for 3 hours everyday. I got a life outside of work.

Personally, I'm woefully underpaid as it is. I would never consider taking a pay cut when I have already proven that I can work my position from home without exhibiting a performance degradation.
