It’s looking good for work from home and hybrid schedules. Before you anti union people get your knickers in a twist, this applies to all office people. Which just so happens to include you. The union and the company are coming along well with negotiations. Extended contracts and a work from home permanency will be established. No raises for inflation, though a one time payout is being considered.

Are you not work from home already? My workgroup is WFH permanently, we are not unionized, but I dont think that has anything to do with it.
Are you having to negotiate for WFH? Seems like something the company can give at the negotiating table without actually giving you anything, and the union walks away thinking they've won something, but the plan was to have you WFH anyway.
Join a union or don't join one I don't care (I was in the union at another job, I think it was more useful there, and I don't know what your job is, so maybe they do good here, too), whatever you feel is best, but I'm just glad I don't have to go through the kind of cr-p you have to go through for basic no-brainer stuff.
"Many union people hold many degrees and are extremely technical"
I'm also an educated software engineer but the difference between us is that I don't make fun of others or call them high school dropouts. Many union people hold many degrees and are extremely technical. I enjoy the WFH just as much as you do but I don't throw it into people's faces because they are simply making a living to keep food on the table. Become a little more humble before posting how well you get paid. You are just a number like everyone else. If all you are banking on is RSU's then why don't you seek work elsewhere? I get sick of the they vs. us posts. We all work for the same company and we add benefit in spaces where we are needed.
Educated software engineer here. I can work from home as long as I want. Just keep my $200k a year salary going or I will jump ship for a tech company. I may jump ship anyways if one throws enough RSU's at me. I don't have to grovel for a job like the high school dropouts in the union or customer care.
I’m wanting to believe this, but all I keep hearing is to report to call center on February 5. Waiting too see what Hans has to say jan4.
