Thread regarding Ford layoffs

TOWN HALLS

I think town halls are just a waste of time and nothing more. I used to be interested in what would be said in the town hall, but now I know in advance that I will only hear empty phrases that I have heard many times before. What’s the point of town halls if employees don’t get the information they really want to know?

You say 3 years? That's way too long.
I have a $20 bet with another person frequenting this forum that Doug Field will leave within a year. And that was 5 mos ago. He better leave now by Sep/Oct - dont wanna loose my 20 :)

Jim Hackett doesn't seem so bad now does he ladies?

I knew it was a mistake giving him the boot. He had vision unlike the current leadership.

Doug Fields can't stop licking his lips because he salivating at how he's going to fleece Ford over the next 3 years before "deciding to pursue other interests".

Anyone else find Doug Fields constantly licking his lips annoying? Considering his background, his public speaking skills are lacking.

I don't miss the towns halls -retired. Last couple years I had misplaced trust that the next one might display some leadership, direction, and confidence where the company was going. Complete disappointment the last several years. My bad for expecting what was not going to happen. There was a time when Ford had leaders that actually connected what needed to be done with the people being called on to do it. Don't know what happened. It should not be a just a politically correct talk show now with topical talking points. Sad.

Why watch? Because they are hilarious once you have stopped caring about Fords future, they provide something for us all to bond over, bumbling stumbling execs showing their relevance/irrelevance. Plus it is too cold outside for our walking clubs to get in our 40,000 steps a day on Fords dime. We have watched all the episodes of Yellowstone and 1883 in our Ford streaming club, again on Fords dime. Comedic relief = Town Hall.

I don't plan to waste my time for what material is presented. PURE CUPCAKE. Not meaningful information. Which translate to lack of realistic vision and leadership. Keep talk form a teleprompter Jim. We know one thing for sure!! You and Bill are not Leaders.

Nobody is saying Fields was better than Mulaly. They are saying Fields was better than Farley. They ain't wrong.

Alan Mulally was the best CEO in last 20 years….. not Mark Fields. He and Derrick Kuzak had vision….. REAL vision. Been down hill since they both left.

I watched the TH. Had to go for a double shot of Expresso. No information at all regarding the state of the company. There are rumblings out there about cuts and agency people. those items should be reviewed with the troops.
Instead, I see JF taking from a prompter. It makes me sick. Does not even believe the stuff coming out of his mouth.
Morale is LOW. Getting worse by the day.

This week it was certainly no more than an internally facing "infomercial" of little value.

Farley's obvious reading from a script is annoying. Fields was a real CEO, smooth, articulate, and always on point.

It was cool that Farley played the video of a guy getting a used Mustang for Christmas. Surprised Bill allowed it considering all of the vehicles in the video were ICE based.

Doug Field?? Meh. Waste of money.

Bring back Mark Fields and get this company off of the path a being a continuous laughing stock.

I don't recall our quality and products being as bad as they are now when he was with the company. Yeah, sync 2 was a mess, but at least windows weren't flying out of customers vehicles.

The China bu-t kissing in this past Town Hall was nauseating.

I thought the EXACT same thing. This has turned into a check in the Pulse box exercise for Farley and Co. to say, "Yep, we communicate with our employees."

Asking the Ford China CEO what he likes to eat. Ahhh... The silliness of it all. Thank god I was multitasking through it so as not to seek restitution for the 1 hour of my life I'm never getting back.

It's what isn't said. What about the endless restructurings? What progress has Doug Fields made? The relevant updates? Our merits? Our AICP? They'll send some email probably announcing 50% AICP and delayed merits and schedule the next big presentation out far enough to distance themselves from the bad news emails only to talk about the silliness again coupled with how we're going to be the premiere EV Company. If there are so many trophies to celebrate, why not compete like a champion vs. a challenger?
