Fixing the external hires mistakes

Most of us realize that having externals is not really cheaper. However, decision makers need to understand that as well. I absolutely agree with someone who said that internal employees' day consists of fixing the external hires' mistakes instead of working claims.
I waste an awful lot of time correcting their mistakes and it’s really frustrating. You?

Yawn. Same nonsensical prediction on SF’s demise for over 5 years now. Your predictions were wrong 5 years ago, 4 years ago, 3 years ago, 2 years ago , last year and they are wrong again today. Speaks to ignorance.

Executive has made this same fu-k up many times before. They think they’re business gods and put the company through a stress test. Well for some reason tippy and Yi thought a pandemic would be the best time to run the most invasive stress test in history and now look what happened.
Yi is gone. It’s not going to get better until tippy is gone. He still thinks he’s a business god because of the short term success of millions of policies but that won’t last. The long term will but us back to 2017 numbers (losing millions).

They tried to pull this garbage in the trucking industry to bust the Teamsters by doing what they call interlining. A non union company would pick up union freight off a union dock and transport it to customer. The Teamsters put up with it and it continued until the customer got damaged freight and the costs of doing business got so out of control most if not all went belly up like: Remember Consolidated Freightways. SF is the same. The only way to be the best is to continue with the basics. Take care of the employees and the customers rather than force numbers that are not reflective of the mission and vision statements. That's called work ethic and conservative values. A company who loses that gets into a risky venture and will lose its ability to compete. SF is not the only bully that will eventually get the well deserved black eye unless they change their business behaviors and focus on the internal and external customers.

My understanding is in Fire claims they have recognized the externals are not working out and there is and will be numerous proximity CS posting going up. I was told about an auto meeting where they announced they would follow the Fire lead and do the same. Now the problem with this is the same as always, they can't hire and train enough competent internals to offset the mass exodus of claims employees.

It is cheaper period. No medical, no pension, no 401K, no life insurance, no PTO, no social security.

Sure it’s cheaper on the front end but OT last year increased my base salary by 33%.

They can't keep any independent worth a darn. All the good ones won't put up with all the cr-p to close a claim. Look at all the 6 digit newbies. They do have backups to clean up their mess aka staff adjusters.

Seriously, not cheaper? The company is run by accountants. They get weekly reports and know the cost to the penny, you are very naive. The nice thing with independents is you can cut them loose any time, at no cost…..

I think all of this is too funny! Us old timers know it all too well. Same book, same chapter and same sentence.

Most externals I've worked with do as well if not better than internals.

Unlike internals, they know their contract can end at any time. Therefore, they are more motivated to work harder.
