I don't care about waiting for severance and similar cr-p. I don't want to end up without a job and with no viable option right then and there. No severance is worth that. It's always easier to find a job when you already have one and it certainly looks better on your resume. If I have it my way, I'll be out of here within a month.

Non-compete clauses are very difficult to enforce for companies that terminate employees without cause. Depends on the state.
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but there are Bose products and parts for sale frequently on craigslist. Under very shady circumstances, directly traceable to an employee. I don't know yet if that employee is part of this layoff.
Susan Simonelli also tried to say you can’t sell Bose products on eBay after your let go, it’s like no you wrote that off as income. When my severance ran out I sold that cr-p!
When I was let go last year, the release talked about not disparaging Bose and no direct or indirect solicitation of employees to come work. There was nothing about non-compete, which are difficult (or impossible) to enforce.
Protection of Bose intellectual property, but not a non-compete
As noted, many xBose at competitors, no problem if abide by the above
Go forth and seek new experiences and happiness - get moving, all the best!
I don’t remember signing a non compete and I know lots of Bose engineers who have gone on to work for close competitors.
I'm in the final stages of interviewing to leave my job at Bose. Does anybody know if Bose made us sign a non-compete when we started? I don't believe they did, but wanted to check here in case anyone thought different.
