9 Kmarts left

Never fear, List Man Jack is here! OK, so Avenel is linked so we have 9 Kmarts non-closing, as of now. This means there are zero "states" with multiple Kmarts. I called the store, and the gentleman who answered just Said they were closing "next Month", so I didn't press further. I just wished him Good Luck, thanked him, and hung up. So I'm not sure of the exact closing Date, as of now, but it's a moot point, as this store is now owned by SB30, not Transformco, so the fate is sealed.

We are now at 9 Kmarts total, 4 of which are in the US. I have changed my map to reflect this as well:

Statistics: Kmart absent in 47 states. Now we have 3 states, FL, NJ, NY, with only 1 each. There are now zero states that have multiple Kmarts, although the territory of USVI has 4 (2 in St. Thomas, 2 in St. Croix). There are 3 Kmarts within the mainland United "States", total. Of those in the US mainland, zero, have a pharmacy.
Additionally, Puerto Rico has 1 Kmart, USVI has 4, Guam has 1, so there are 6 total stores outside of the U.S. mainland. There are 4 pharmacies in the territories, marked with letter "P" (2 in USVI, 1 each in Guam, PR). Total of 9 Kmarts left as of now that are not closed or closing.

@1kcr+1fFYaNj7 Thanks for that. Quick liquidation, sure, but being that half the store is blocked off, and there isn't much left in the other half, that explains why they'll be able to get rid of everything, so quickly, by April 17.

The closure of sears, Kmart has become a total fiasco and those who banter about the return of sears, roebuck and co. Are either delusional or on bad, imported meds. The org. Has lost touch with reality that big box stores are a lot like my old teeth, filled with decay and stench, no products, no decent price points, nothing in stock, no support from service and virtually no backup parts. Simply say, sayonara, adios, good bye to a wonderful organization for which I worked for 42 years. Thx for the wonderful times when I worked 24 years on home deliveries and the 18 in store maintenance as fast, bldg. engr. And qmt. Many great, smart persons and I really miss the camaraderie. I am about at the end of my life at this point but I thank sears for allowing me to do the best I could, albeit; with some learning disabilities things were difficult for me to learn but I thank others on the qmt team whom helped me a lot. Thx for everything and for allowing me to remain with sears so long.

I feel like I need to chime in. You see as we have expressed so many times before, our go-forward store strategy for Sears and Kmart is to operate a diversified portfolio consisting of a small number of larger, premier stores with a larger number of small-format stores.

Sweet! Too bad it's just a 1-off list, I was hoping he would bop out at least all the stateside Kmarts in this round. Step it up, Ed. Maybe trip down the USVI too. No need for 2 on each island, 1 on each is more than enough.
