Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Really tiresome...

Work with your manager and make sure to get your goals in for the year.

Really?! What the fck for? They don't matter, the only thing that matters is being in the "it crowd". Previous years I went in and filled in legit work goals, accomplished them, got M/M, and no raise/bonus.

Maybe that's what I should enter for the What, "get with the "in" crowd." The How, "water cooler chat", "attended external social events", "laugh at all d-mb jokes", "agree to all id--tic suggestions for (quote unquote) improving work."

This is such a waste of time; proving once again how leadership lacks understanding.

The bank is only allowed managers a certain percentage of who gets E/E. And the only ones that qualify for that are part if the IT crowd. There is no point trying to figure out why. I’ve been here many years and work circles around other members but I am not D& I and am not a white make that may decide to do 50% of the work that day.

always put exceeds/exceeds on your review. make your manager have to defend not giving it to you. at worst they'll usually drop it down to exceeds/meets to 'meet' you halfway.

Early in my career, I asked my manager what impact the cascaded goals have on my individual compensation. The response was such a dance number of speaking without answering, I said I had work do to and returned to my desk. It became obvious they are just for show.

My #1 Goal is not to deal with BS work stress. Time is too precious to be feeling stressed out on a daily basis..

I agree completely. One year met all deliverables and fire drill deliverables with almost 100% completions. Got m/m no raise and 35% reduction of bonus. Another year, same as above, but over 70% completion. Still got m/m no raise and 10% increase in bonus ( keep in mind still down from 35% reduction). Like take 4 dollars from me then give me 1 dollar back, still down…. Yeah no sentence structure/grammar. I don’t care, just tag lines to get point across. Be well in this zoo.
