Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

I need to get rid of this workload

I feel terribly stressed because I was once again given even more work to do. How much is too much? I really don't know how I'm going to do all this. I wouldn't leave here for bigger pay, but only if I knew I wouldn't have this much workload. Still, I believe that other banks are now burying employees with unrealistic workloads as well.

OP I know exactly how you feel. This week was just plain horrible. To make matters worse, I DID say NO. Didn’t matter. Yesterday (Friday) I pinged my Mgr. and said I was leaving at Noon. Did not say it through my tears. Nothing is worth that. After “I hope you feel better”, I said we need to talk Monday morning. Stand up for yourself. I am. No job is work compromising your health and reducing you to tears. Good luck.

the trick is just to do a really sh---y job. people will quit giving you things if you continue to sc--w things up. once you show yourself to be competent, all the works that the other incompetent people can't do will roll your direction until you start pushing back or making mistakes. Keep saying you are so busy for why you suddenly are making mistakes and large errors. Suddenly, things will shift off your plate to some other rube.

You have to say No. Burst into tears, mess everything up, whatever it takes - be brave and stand up for yourself. They will back off and figure another way. If you don't, they will just keep trying to bully/scare you and run all over you.

We already had one teammate sent to the hospital due to stress, overwork, etc.

When she came back from medical leave (!) (seriously, it was that bad), she was assigned to a new team with a narrower, more focused job, different manager and is much happier now.

Just stand up for yourself and say “NO”! You don’t have any more capacity.
