Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Anyone else getting migraines from RTO?

I am only getting migraines on the days I’m in office, not the days where I wfh. I’ve turned my monitor brightness way down but I think the fluorescent lights are ki----g me. I am literally getting sick from being in office, this is so miserable for me. Because I’ve been so run down from RTO, it’s affecting my work/life balance. Anyone else having the migraine issue? Is there anything I can do?

My colleague told me a story about how years ago this guy found another job because he was getting so many migraines. After he left the bank they found out there was some cleaning chemical in the carpet that was causing tons of people to get migraines.

I have been getting headaches too and haven't been feeling myself lately. I am going to report Bank of America to OSHA for failing to keep safe and clean working environment. This company did not disinfect this office for the RTO . I will make sure this is reported asap. YOU HAVE TO TAKE CHARGE IN THIS MATTER. THIS CEO DOESN'T GIVES A RATZ AZZ ABOUT YOU!!!

In our office, the cleaning people never clean. So dust everywhere. No ventilation either. After a decade in the office, we lost an otherwise perfectly healthy 60 year old to lung cancer, and almost lost another to br---t cancer. The offices are a hazard to one's long-term health. Humans weren't meant to sit at a desk staring at a computer screen all day.

100% not sure what changed as I didn't have this problem prior to the pandemic, but now that I am back the lights are too much. Maybe I just go used to have some actual natural light while working at home.

YES!! Because of those LIGHTS!!!! And no way to turn down (or off).

Day 1: Got a migraine (first in 2 years!) P.S. I was the only one even there.
Day 2: Lesson learned. I wore sunglasses. Saw one other person whose work is completely unrelated.

So I stopped going in. Those lights are horrendous!!! (and I am a big proponent of protecting the planet. There are better solutions!! or at least let us dim the damn things)

One Wells Fargo in charlotte is an absolute dump. They recently redid the lobby but none of the floors people (aka peasants) work on. Nothing but lipstick on a pig. My advice is to refuse to RTO. If you did go in like a lemming take pictures of disgusting carpets, bathrooms, kitchens, etc and send them to the press. Company needs to be held accountable for this forced RTO nonsense.

Yes, this is a real thing. You can find articles and studies all over the internet about what causes people to feel sick when working in offices like we work in. You’re breathing recycled air all day, sitting under fluorescent lights, being exposed to perfume & cologne & a whole lot of industrial cleaner that’s all laden with chemicals. I hear some buildings have new carpet, and I’m sure our health wasn’t taken into consideration when they were making those selections. I used to experience headaches, and fatigue every day pre-pandemic… my symptoms would go away shortly after leaving the office. I was using my asthma inhaler every day when I worked in office, but since WFH I barely need it.

yikes!! you might need to wear sunglasses indoors and keep that mask on. you need to make a complain to facilities, hr, anybody, and everybody. get it documented. they need to test the carpets for chemical compounds or whatever its called. because if you get sick down the road, you need to have your evidence to support when it started. best of luck.

They installed new "cost effective" (meaning lowest bid) fluorescent ballasts that don't have baffle diffusers at my site. Every day is like being interrogated by police in a bad B movie with a blinding light, but now from all directions.

Yes! I get a headache everyday I am in office. I believe it is due to the intensely bright lights.

There are offices in Charlotte I’ve found the same. The Office with the Holiday in on College Street is well known to be a sick building.
