…and they are almost completely empty. One floor might be at 20% occupied. I feel like a complete su---r for coming in. Also, I had forgotten how distracting and loud it is to have someone right next to you on a call. Yikes.

But what about all that great collaboration you're doing this week?
Felt a little like some sci-fi movie. Just rows and rows of empty cubicles. They are all uniformly plain because we don’t have assigned seating so no pictures or personalized spaces. Every once in a while you could hear a random conversation or see someone pop up from a cubicle which honestly made it seem eerier.
My group doesn’t RTO until early April. People who were fully remote prior to Covid now have to return in early June. I am not surprised the floors are not yet full. Probably soon though.
A small batch of us came in to our assigned area Monday and Tuesday and we are all from different groups. Everyone walks away to take calls because we don't know who is sitting next to us, so people are cautious to discuss sensitive information. Most of the people there work a couple of hours, then leave by 10 to go back home. The rest are absolutely miserable and make sure everyone knows.
Corporate Risk assigned dates to come back and are slowly bringing people in this week and next. Not sure if that is partly why it is so empty or if other LOBs are following the same model. Everybody they put in this week for our team was on PTO and therefore, are not in this week. You can tell they didn't put much thought into it.
Is it true that an employee got mugged in Seattle area?
I'm worried about crime in some of these areas.
I haven’t gone in yet and everyone I’ve talked to says there are hardly any ppl in the office at all. We have assigned seats so they went in to check out their spot. People stayed half the day and there were 5 ppl -tops- per neighborhood. One floor has 3 so you’re talking UP TO 15 and that’s being generous.
OP, if there’s hardly anyone in your building and presumably open seating, how did you get stuck sitting next to some loud person on calls?
CIC in Charlotte was kind of empty on Monday. No one sitting near me, not even down my row. Was pointless.
On at least three calls today where there was so much background noise I couldn’t hear the person on my call that was talking.
In CLT. Floor was 20% capacity. Heat was on 90. But the trash (scores of piled up paper boxes) and disgusting keyboards and chairs. There's no way anyone cleaned anything these past 2 years. I'm not going back for my other 2 days this week and I feel very confident in that decision.
About 15% occupancy on my floor. It was a waste of time, money and energy to go in.
No wonder WFC is valued at less than 2/3 of BAC and 1/2 of JPM.
@OP, I so agree. The workplace has been the worst for me. There are bullies and gossips and there was even one woman that was completely out of line yelling that I was a _itch for no reason whatsoever, except for possibly, she was looking at herself in the mirror. I had just returned from leave for cancer. Needless to say, nothing was done with the woman, because she was a minion of a higher-up. There was another woman that would hack and cough for months every winter with some kind of infection. It was so loud and distracting. I really dread going back in.
I mean... they backed off the hard stance because they didn't want to lose 70% of their workforce.
So you went in what... just to see what's up?
Same for me, I’m guessing about 20% occupancy for my neighborhood. I stayed for few hours then just came home.
You’re still here? Covid is over? Nothing to see. Go home.. just don’t work from home.
"Yep. Probably 20% of desks filled at my location. No masks either other than a few sheep. I’m not vaxxed and will never be. Nobody said a word to me."
Gee, wonder why we wouldn't want to go back to working in close quarters with people like this? If they know you are this kind of person, they are likely avoiding you like the plague.
F@ck RTO and Wells Fargo
Yep. Probably 20% of desks filled at my location. No masks either other than a few sheep. I’m not vaxxed and will never be. Nobody said a word to me.
Mission Accomplished!
