Thread regarding Acosta Sales & Marketing layoffs

Horrible company

RUN, Run as fast as you can, away from this company. I’ve been a district manager with the company for 5 years. On February 24,2022 at 11:45am., a lot of us were on a conference call where we were told that we were either being laid off, or offered another position with in the company. We were told that we would have to make our decision by close of business on Monday February 28, 2022, and that we would receive email in writing of the severance package, or the offer of employment. I never received either email. At 5pm on Monday February 28, 2022, without having the information I needed to make an educated decision, I was forced to make a decision under duress. I’m now bumped back down to an RCM making $1.00 less an hour than employees I hired as a DM. I will find another job, and I won’t be giving a notice when I Leave. They will tell you how great you are but won’t pay you what your worth. All I ask was for a dollar more an hour than what I was offered with the demotion. $40.00 a week. Even though I’m such an “asset” and “ value” to the company, I was pretty much told I’m not worth it. CORPORATE GREED. THE RICH KEEP LYNING THEIR POCKETS, AND THE POOR GET POORER! Had I been given the information I was supposed to receive, I would have opted for the severance package, but that was held from me, because the company wanted me to except the new position, so the could put more money in their pock.

This was buried in replies in one of the older posts, I'm reposting it so more people can see it. It was originally posted by @enkhx+11ptmV1D.

From day one when I was hired I hated my job w/Acosta as a RM but I had to take it. Pros decent dm, flexible schedule, generous PTO, health benefits but you cant afford them on $17.00an hour. The work is sh---y and I dont understand half the cr-p they want us to do in some so's. No chance for pay increase. Its flat out a dead end job. Heb Grocery store managers are jerks to me and its not worth it to be treated that way. Thank the lord I only had to endure 7 months of working for Acosta as kept applying for other gigs and finally landed one that pays double what Acosta does. My replacement quit 24hours after being hired. Its a sh-t job that will crush your soul.

I'm a RDM. I was hired with the understanding that I "would occasionally need to work in store"...3 months later we're being told "WE MUST WORK IN STORE 3 DAYS for a total 15 HOURS A WEEK" IN ADDITION to what we are hired to do.

This company cannot staff due to low pay in certain regions. So they are losing clients due to work not getting done. THIS means they're making District Mangers do 2 jobs and they dint even pay competitively for the dm to match the pay of entry level merchandisers in other companies.

I was looking to create a list of companies paying their reps more to show they needed to raise pay and found ENTRY LEVEL REPS GETTING $3.00 AN HOUR MORE THAN ME!!!

Luckily I've found different work but I really feel for those who are staying with this abusive and unappreciated company. They have some great people who deserve WAY WAY better.

"They just hired me after a fifteen minute conversation on phone. Full time. Hmmmm? What y’all think?"

They are DESPERATE for help. But, the job may only last 15 minutes.

Over a year. It’s gloomy. I was hired over 1 year ago. I was told then, by my manager, that I could work 35 hours a week. I have never found it, after I month.
I was never told there would be slow times. It has been the pits! It feels like they have no money. Scrapping by on 8 or 12 hours a week. Making weekly runs to the bank to pay bills. Certainly, Acosta being almost Worldwide. You would thing they would have money in reserves. They really hate us out here. Please, lay me off. My unemployment would be more. I pray to God, have them please fire me.

CompanyThey work you to the bone with no raises. New people coming on board make more than the employees that have been faithful. Hope to quit in 2023.

I know this guy I dated for about seven years that works for that company and he used to be a cool creative nice guy he literally has lost his soul since working for this company. It’s a dead end job I’ve watched his life crumble and he’s a meaner drunk than he was before..his Mommy was a manager and got him the job and she really messed up his life
