Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I’m interviewing with Citi

So I’m interviewing with Citi but after seeing so many posts here on layoff it sounds like Citi is worse than Wellsfargo where I am now. I have a good boss currently and in a good team but I just don’t like the work I’m doing and hence started looking.
I’m interviewing for lateral moves and was only going to get 20-30k increment in comp perhaps.
With everything going on at Citi would you advise me to join Citi?

Citi bonuses and salaries are below industry standards. Culture is knee-jerky and archaic. Management is poor, very very poor. Systems are stuck in the 90s. Chase/Wells Fargo/BofA are better employers/places to work. Stay far away, your current job at Wells Fargo will never be as horrendous as this clusterfudge.

Yes, the interview process will give you a good idea as to how Citi works.

Don’t let anyone convince you one way or another.
The interview process itself will help solidify any doubt that you have.
It’ll help you make your mind up.

You’ll find out how great Citi is when they string you along for weeks to months with no response or status all the while expecting you to be professional, punctual and timely.

You can search LinkedIn to see post after post of people asking Citi why its taking weeks or more to hear anything.

Once you go down this path you’ll see that most of the “complainers” seemed to have something to complain about as you’ll be living it.

300K employees, and I bet 50 are the frequent moaners on here, so the vocal minority appears to be the trend when in fact that is not the case.

Keep interviewing, be up front about what you need on compensation. Don't play games at the end, or you are likely wasting everyone's time.

I left C for more $ and also get an extra week of vacay. So I’m good. While true some of the posts are from trolls, quite a few are right on target. I have to agree with the other poster on this. Get your money up front in your negotiations because you’ll not get it in a bonus, not unless you’re like a huge money generator.

Bonus’s and raises are sparse. Get your money up front. No idea what a Wells Fargo bonus is but I was ranked the highest in my group twice and was given a grand total of 1K each time for a bonus with the words of “no one is getting good raises this year” each time.

Half the people in here don’t really work for Citi or are just trolls.
No idea if it’s better than Wells Fargo, but I’ve been at Citi for years and I like it. WLB is good, culture is decent. Interview and see what you think.
