No one is ever completely safe from layoffs. When ones time comes one must leave.

The chances you’ll get laid off are climbing higher and higher, with the legal troubles the company is in. Once the company goes bankrupt, almost all of folks will have to pack their bags and leave. Be smart and get a job market before recession peaks.

BG's just cut budgets and travel by 50% in 2nd quarter. If you are a white male with a pension, expect to be high on the list of any layoff.

Right - layoffs are generally targeted; attrition is random.

Majority of attrition is happening in folks who joined in the last five or six years, who are relatively low paid employees.

Layoffs will continue to happen for employees who are above a certain age mostly, since they are a " high cost " item for the company. Simple economics ...when there is 0 growth cost cutting will continue ...
