Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

How long does it take to get an offer

With Citibank? I did well on the interviews, and had a chat with h/r regarding salary compensation, and start date about a week ago, and haven't heard anything back since. No response to follow ups.
How long did it take before you were offered an offer letter?
Yes, I am still searching for other opportunities.

It can be as fast as one week or as long as three months. If it's longer than two months chances are you were not first choice or h.r is not approving the budget

Working 40 and doing the minimal is ok for you. I put in the extra time as needed to stay in top percentage of performers so some weeks its 45 and I am ok with that as I like my job and the package of benefits

For me, 40 is it. No more, no less. They pay for 40, they get 40. My loyalty is directly tied to my paycheck.

No koolaid drinking here.

Ignore trolls. I’ve been at Citi 15 years. Many have been there 25+ years. I work 40 hrs a week tops. I make good money.

I am the op, and I want to state that 1wbr+1fSzAsRf, is not me.
I had a legitimate question, and didn't expect a troll response from that poster.
Everyone else who has responded thoughtfully to my question, thank you.

I know I don’t work 50-60 per week. Citi does not pay enough to warrant those hours.

I like how the one guy bashes citi and whenever somebody else posts how much they like it they get get called a liar and a 13 year old. If you actually worked at citi and received the anniversary emails you can see the longevity of the employees and that some people really it.

To me with the poor grammar and repetitive thoughts and the time of the post I think it's an ignorant indian that posts all of this nonsense. If the guy really worked 50 to 60 hours a week they would get overtime as long as they are below AVP. I know people that are very happy to get the overtime and so I doinr the poster works at Citi at all. The person prolly lives with their parents

They way he converses, I really think its a kid 13 yr old or so just playing around. I’d like to think it was a kid rather than an adult trying to instigate things for amusement, which would be much more sad.

He’s obviously a liar. Some 30 year old still living off his parents retirement in their basement trying to stir things up for entertainment because he can’t get a girlfriend. There’s no way he got hired within a week that fast.

First, no Citi employee would ask “how much did they offer you”
You who replied are the same poster that asked the question “how much did they offer you”.

You just made a post, signed out and signed back in for a new postID and responded.
There’s no way you interviewed a week ago and got made an offer that quick without at least 2-3 follow up interviews.

The whole hiring process will give you a great idea as to how Citi functions. Learn from it and use the experience to make your decision.

It may take 2-3 weeks to get you an offer letter after verbal extension/acceptance due to internal bureaucracy of the compensation department, business management, and other people who have to sign off on things in the systems. It is not your recruiter's fault that it is taking so long. They are waiting just like you are.

This is a perfect time to follow up with them. Offer times simply vary, depending on the hiring manager, the team involved, the urgency of the need, the skills required and where you stack up, how much you are asking and where that falls inside/outside the range, and whether that needs approvals... whether you're up against other front-runners and what they've asked for, etc, etc, etc... WAY too many variables to even come up with an 'average' time. Could be 1-3 days, or it could be a couple weeks. Definitely not in bad form to simply reach out for an update.
