For me, the ratio was like 90% productivity to 10% bureaucracy. Today the inverse is true. The majority of my days, and I'm not even kidding, is now spent attending meetings and paper pushing.

100% spot on. Of all the meetings held and paper pushed in my last few groups, no one could find anything of added value from either a customer or shareholder perspective. The biggest champions for all that bureaucracy = tms who work in those group, and the big consulting institutions who sold it to them.
Never seen so many manual excel spreadsheets to maintain!
All talk. Nothing more.
My favorite part of the bureaucracy is that the remediation teams build absolutely none of it to scale. I’ve never seen so many manual, two steps forward, 3 back processes in my life: Then, as soon as there’s a leader change or issue closes they scrap the thing to replace it with something even more manual. The teams that are real masochists for it by opening a self-identified issue for fixing the mess they first made by making a new one.
