you can take all the holidays you want after you resign. You can also sit and stare at your pet snake, for all anyone cares.

Why do you care? Inform them then just do it.

They can ding you in the annual review….

Sure take as much time as you need once you resign. You don't even have to schedule it or call it PTO, personal days, or holidays.

I know if you are retiring, your last day you cannot be on leave. Not sure if same holds true if you resign.

@uwj - Thanks for the info. My manager approved the time yesterday before I decided to resign (haven’t given notice yet), so as long as that approval holds and isn’t rescinded, I should be able to use the days. I guess I’ll find out soon.

Entirely depends on your manager. Nothing in our prior Timetracker system nor workday prevents you from taking them after giving notice. However, it is entirely up to your manager as to whether he/she will approve time off after you give notice. If they will approve it, it’s up to you whether you take the floating holiday/personal holidays or actual PTO.

You can't cash out person or floating holidays use them or loose them. Take the day off tomorrow and Fri.

Schedule those days now and hopefully your manager will approve them. That is the only chance you will have of using them but they will not get approved after you give notice

Use your personal and floating days and then resign.

Nope. Use it before. Then resign.

They’ll take them away. Rule is to always take them before regular PTO.

I completely expect them to fu-k me over, since that’s the only consistency in the company. Just curious if those days can be used within your two weeks. I’ve seen people use PTO in their last weeks, just not sure how they coded it.

Nope. Best practice is to use personal/floating holidays prior to PTO days. You never know.

You'll still be employed, right? So...unless the firm terminates you immediately for some reason, you should be able to use them

OP here - To clarify, my intent is to resign Monday, but then use the personal and floating holidays for the last three days of my two week notice. I’m not sure if that’s allowed, or if they take those away when you resign.

How can you take a holiday, personal day, or PTO/vacation day from a JOB YHAT DON'T HAVE?

Now, if you're asking if you will get paid out for personal and floating holidays when you leave, the answer is no. That is why the recommendation I've always been told it first burn your 5 days of carry over, then use your personal/floating days, then your PTO
