I am an underwriter and I was laid off today. Very sad day. I spent many years working for US Bank Mortgage. I don’t know if more layoffs are planned, and I wish everyone who was laid off today the best. Truly heartbreaking.

Was the 'effective date' immediately? Or did they give you a month or two or three to wind things down? I've seen it there several times and personally experienced it too -it's awful. In my experience the direct managers don't know beforehand. They are shell-shocked and heartbroken. Best wishes for all of you.
How many people got laid off? What positions?
I was in that same meeting ~ still can’t get information. I missed that Q&A session because I couldn’t access my email they said they would be sending with the information. I call HR and they know nothing
Oh my gosh! It just breaks my heart hearing about this. I have been on vacation and heard about this yesterday. 300 people that is insane . While all the big wigs keep their earnings and do nothing. What is so ethical about this . Isn't is US together like they always brag about? My heart goes out to everyone that was laid off and I hope and pray that you all will be able to find a new job with a company that puts their employees first above all !
