Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

Feeling checked out...zero interest

In tech...
Too many meetings...not enough time to do the actual work.

Most of these meetings have people that either are hard to understand (thick accents) or have no idea what they are talking about...or both...it makes everyone lose interest.

Is this just in my area or is this a common theme in the bank?

I finish the day having no clue what really got accomplished.

I couldn't agree more on the conference calls that are so asinine and a complete waste of time. Many of them are run by nonenglish speaking mutherfockers. This company is a complete joke from the coward azz CEO on down. I am embarrassed to be associated with a company that doesn't care about their employees health or financial well being. This company has went down to shlit.

You are not alone. If I had a dollar for all the meetings that I didn't need to attend, I would have retired after 5-10 years, maybe? How many days do you "finish" by wondering "What did I do today?" Not "accomplish", but "do".

Feeling very bored in my role. The leader of our area has a lot of ideas that don't make sense, yet expects them to be implemented anyway.

I think morale in general in tech is at an all time low.

You aren't alone here. I feel the same!
I skip 80% of the meetings because I'm not the host and need to get stuff done. Is it messed up? Yes! Do I care? Sometimes.

Your stress is similar to mine. I can't imagine going back to the office and wasting 3 hours in commute. This is why I will give in my notice as soon as I'm bothered to come in!
