Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I envy those of you who can leave any time you want

I'm not in a position to just quit my job, as some keep insisting all of us who are complaining do. I need my job. Changing companies right now would be bad for me for several reasons. I would not be able to earn what I earn now (trust me, I checked), and for medical reasons, I can't afford any loss of income right now. I want to leave. Nobody wants to stay in this environment more than they have to, but some of us don't have a choice.

@2pfm+1fbYWjCd shut the fuck up. The poster said "trust me, I checked" That's the basis of every fucking lie on the internet. Trust me I did the research. How hard is it to give a number?

  • Seeing how you might not be willing to list your specific role, can you at least tell us how much you are making and how much you think your role is worth?*

Stop trying to collect data. This isn't an open interview. NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.

You should not feel bad, you are the majority. Most people need to do substantial preparation and job hunting before switching jobs. So dont' feel bad. As people get more mature in their careers (usually along with getting older), their money situation gets more secure and they can take more chances along the way. If that is not you, don't feel bad for where you are now, but also don't stop hoping for, trying for and making happen something better for you!

OP, nobody is insisting anybody do anything. This is an anonymous board. All we do is opine and offer thoughts.

It seems like you are in a bad position, but there may come a time when the option of staying aboard will be eliminated, and that time may be sooner than you think. It's best to be prepared either way.

You've got to realize at this point that Frank is not a company-grower. He is a guy who has a reputation for 'fixing' operations by cutting costs to the bone. With that knowledge, make whatever decisions you feel is best for you.

@OP I would still keep looking. You are in exactly the sort of position to get completely screwed over. Especially if you're sure you're overpaid for your role. This will not keep going unnoticed when it comes time for cuts. Good luck!

I'm truly sorry for your situation. For me it's really quite the opposite. The force to office policy poses a hardship for me, and I've already seen that my income is completely replaceable through a fully remote position or a hybrid position within 15 minutes of my house. That, coupled with management I do not trust and a pretty good team system laid waste, makes leaving an obvious choice for me. My goal is to be gone by mid Spring.

Also who is saying to quit without a job lined up? That's seems suspicious. The only person I would give that advice to is Frank. Hey Frank, you should totally quit your job without another one lined up. It's cool. It will work out for you buddy!
