Thread regarding TransCanada Corp. layoffs

So much sexism

My last post disappeared but this needs to be said.
There is so much sexism at this company. If you're female and you address it, you're out the door.
Women have to work 3 times as hard to get 1/3 of the recognition.
At the town hall, Francois acknowledged the lack of FEMALE leaders; while handing over previously portfolios held by women, over to men.
There is apparently no viable women in the pipeline to take on this work. I bet any amount of money that Leslie Kas spoke up and that's why she's gone - harshly, cruelly, and coldly.

"I know one who giggles, messages other people while a teams call. You can just tell she is talking sh-t about other people or specifically the other woman talking"

HR: Fast track her to the C-suite.

The problem is finding a woman with two ounce of competence. I know one who giggles, messages other people while a teams call. You can just tell she is talking sh-t about other people or specifically the other woman talking who actually know an ounce more than she does. Keep looking at your self *H and keep messaging while on a teams call, your ticket will run out eventually.

Any woman with an ounce of competence gets the role over a white male these days. They’ve basically announced this. Unless of course the white male is connected. I’d stop complaining and tell your manager you want to be a leader, it will happen for you unless you’re a white male.

ummm I do understand everybody experieance and perspective. I just don't care , why would I care about other people. Listen, it's called corporate world for a reason, are you going to pay my bills with your promotion, or when you get to middle management? Didn't think so.

First take the unconscious bias training. You might surprise yourself. Second trying to fill quotas at the top with the wrong skills, sets those people up for failure. Third multiple generation employees from a family are celebrated but it also limits the diversity of new employees. Guess what it also hinders white males from non industry families too. Fourth frontline work needs to be inclusive. Stop blaming diverse people if they don’t like your stupid rude jokes. Fifth not all white males are jerks and not all diverse employees are incompetent.

"Lol, are you the one trying to make unions work? Nobody cares what you are trying to say. People like paychecks, putting food on their table, vacations, etc..who’s going to speak up? Do you think you’re inspiring people? Go poison another company and go away."

Says the white male without the capacity to understand anyone else's perspective or experiences.

LK would skin you alive if you crossed her, so I'm not certain she is a great example. Some people have short shelf lives in this industry and reputations and actions catch up with them. Male AND female. It's all about how psychopathic and manipulative you are while knowing the right people. Those people rise to the top... with a trail of bodies behind them.

Calgary is a two-faced city (lived here all my life.) It likes to peg itself as the smallest biggest town, things done on a hand shake, gentlemanly.. but in reality it's a small pond that is unbelievably ruthless. Always watch your back and document/record things.

The rapid increase of women hired into manager and director roles over the past 3-4 years (whether competent or not) was painfully obvious. The sad part is that most of the non ruthless female managers get chewed up and disposed of while the not so nice ones get rewarded.

Racism? Not sure if that's true, all of my managers over the years have been.....wait, white males. Oh cr-p, you are right. Just go away, it's expected, it's tolerated, it's an unwritten rule that they will be in executive positions. Get over your crusader attitude and think you're going to make a difference. Collect a paycheck and go home or look for another place of employment on their dime.

Show me a qualified female and I’ll show you a leader…..otherwise take a seat in the back of the room.

Yeah, the problem with all sorts of forced "diversity" is that it just doesn't work when you don't have the volume of QUALIFIED 'diverse' people needed to fill those quotas.
It works fine otherwise. It should always be the best, most qualified to do the JOB. Period. I don't care if they're all brown, yellow, red, black or white, nor male or female.

False. Just plain false. Please quantify your reasoning. You sound like a complainer, ooh poor baby, what? You didn’t get a pat on the back for doing your job? Move on before you contaminate the entire workforce.
