Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Downtrodden and leaving

I’ve got a ton of friends spanning all sectors. From talking to them and comparing to Citi, I’ve never heard of such a company as Citi that is so willing to over zealously marginalize BAU efforts.

What I find funny is that “if you don’t make money, then you’re a necessary expenditure. You need to be in a position to make money”. Then the key power players turn around and give away 900$ million to the wrong people which in turn incurs 400$ million in fines.

But yeah, BAU people are the problem, the unnecessary drain on the company, that’s where the problem is.

It’s all about priorities. Like taking care of Jane.

Citigroup Chief Executive Jane Fraser will take home total compensation of $22.5 million for 2021 — a nearly 32% increase from the previous year

I’ve actually been on meetings to where the managers would actually say that very thing.
“BAU roles are not considered impressive at all. If you want a decent raise or bonus, then find another role.”

I’ve worked at five other large companies. They all treat any team who’s function is keeping the lights on with a mild neglect but not the extent that Citi does. Citi seems to go out of their way to make sure that BAU groups know they are disposable and minimally matter. Bonus’s and raises to those guys are so small it might as well not even exist.
