Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

There is money for everything except employees

I might be wrong but it seems to me that PepsiCo has money for everything except employees. Do you agree? You don't have to be a great expert to understand that money is being spent in a bad way. Sometimes I get really upset when I see what the money is spent on instead of investing it in employees of this company.

Full transparency HR is already aware of all this and behind the scenes HR works tirelessly to fight for salary increase programs, bonuses, etc but the total rewards department is basically now financial control and audit, run by GBS and people that care about cutting costs and make excuses to not give raises. This is because they all report up to Lucy Hughes, Ramon’s best buddy and basically the person responsible for the terrible state of HR and Payroll Operations which has trickled down into the rest of the company. Controlling costs is pretty much their main priority as the current leadership does not believe people care about pay that keeps up with inflation. Ridiculous.

That's why it is important to change jobs every few years and get that big bump in pay & benefits. Once you are in, no company is going to treat you fair. Folks complaining about 1.5% raise are those who got their @ss stuck with the company for decades.

They have spent 2 years bragging about record numbers and spending millions upon millions on sponsorships, but only seem to care about employees with CDLs as they are hard to find. The 7.5 % cost of living means they can raise retail prices 11% but when it comes to raises they don't care.

With inflation at 7% or so, the 1.5% raise you get means you're losing money. Hugh said the other day that we're raising prices at least 10%.

There's money for the Super Bowl, sponsor ships (professional, collegiate and high school), NASCAR, regular TV ads, etc. Hate to break the news to the marketing & advertising department, but the core brands basically sell themselves. How about you invest back into the backbone of your company?! I don't need a well compensated celebrity to peddle chips or soda on TV at me. I would be more apt to patronize a business that pays their employees a decent living wage, than see Shakira shake her bo--y. I have unfortunately witnessed so much "kissing up to customers" that it would nauseate you. Let all that sink in when the .50 to 1.5% raises are given out.

I hope HR reads the comments to this and every post here. Also hoping they are taking notes too. Oh wait...most of them are too busy looking at Indeed and LinkedIn for the next gig to get out of P*psiCo. Only the highly compensated ones are toughing it out though.

I used to dumpster dive at FLNA HQ. All sorts of brand new planners, trophies in every shape and size, frames, books, pens, monitors, etc.....
