Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

It’s sad to watch

It’s sad to watch… they treat the experienced employees like garbage til they quit or get laid off, and then fling complex projects that require years of experience at whatever unfortunate newbie fresh out of college is left. Then they get confused why the project isn’t getting done while the newbies quit after a year.
I tried to propose a buddy training system on my team to create a talent pipeline by making sure everyone was getting on the job training and got laughed at and was basically told to shut up. Good job, management.

@1yud+1fi9j0Oi said it perfectly.

The new Michael Dell book play nice but win is ironic also since that is not what happens here. Groups here act like the mafia. School yard bullies everywhere. Code of conduct is only followed when they want to use it against someone.

This is the reason that people are leaving.Its so hard for genuine staff who are working hard to get anything done because systems dont work and so many department changes.That and the fact other companies are offering a better package overall will make it hard to keep staff.Dell is a dinosaur they just dont know it. Lot of talk from management very little action.

It's all fallng apart in Support. So many failed techies going into management roles now (right up to director level) with fancy titles & big egos but little or no experience or ability to back it up.
