Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

I don't want to see attrition slow down

The more people walk away voluntarily, the lesser is the chance of the rest of us getting laid off or fired as a cost-cutting measure. Why get rid of people with severance if enough are willing to quit? I know that's a sad way to look at job security, but that's where we are right now.

There is no benefit to being the last man standing on a sinking ship. You will just get all the work from everyone that has left without the additional pay.
The only thing guaranteed is burn out from being overworked and frustration.

This is a company that only cares about one thing, stock price.

It boosts CEO bonuses and stock options. It makes Wall Street happy.

Most of you are meaningless to his company. If you don't like it leave. Absolutely no one cares I promise you.

This is a true concept. It is like working at hunger games. That is why you see such disfunction in the company. Some folks always kissing up to management to try and make sure they don't get the cut. Others are willing to step on your throat and the rest just don't care.

Not exactly an environment inclusion, equality or diversity, is it?

The people who walk away aren't necessarily the people you want to walk away.
