Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

The real Fiserv way

For anyone thinking of working at Fiserv. Let me give you an idea of what you’re getting into: spoiler alert: it’s worse than ever now

You’ll sign on, be completely lost your first few months as there is nobody left to properly train you on how to do the job. You’ll be expected to be a great contributor and put in extra time. Once you become good at your job which takes about 3 years, you’ll never get any sort of comp increase or promotion and after doing 30,000 things right , the one wrong you do they’ll hold against you so they don’t need to pay you more. You’ll continue to be burned out as you see great people leave around you leaving you holding the bag. You won’t get paid anymore though. You’ll be considered a SME but not get any reward for it other than having to work more, train more people and be responsible for doing more in general.

You’ll go through 55 re-orgs and change managers several times in a few years span. You’ll receive emails stating how well the company is doing right after your received your comp statement indicating a 2% increase (if you’re lucky) despite being a go to on the team. Don’t worry the guy slacking got a 1.5% increase. Eventually you’ll work so many hours you’re essentially getting paid the same as an entry level McDonalds position. You’ll find out your buddy who left is making 30% more than he was when he was at Fiserv and get curious. You’re so valuable to the team though you’re hoping they do something to keep you. Nope they don’t. You leave , make more, are happy and never look back

You’re welcome

Propaganda written by a malcontent who left and found out the grass isn’t greener and now trying to persuade you. Be your own person, remember 44300 support and are proud of Fiserv 200, most who have already left come here to try to get your to leave. As they say buyer beware.

"the one wrong you do they’ll hold against you so they don’t need to pay you more"

Yep, I got rated 'Meets Most' one year because I didn't create enough wiki entries. That had nothing to do with my day to day job. I was meets and above on every other goal, but got rated lower overall based on the one goal that did not materially affect our team. Also only got a 1% 'merit increase' that year.

These guys are effing shysters. I'm so glad to be outta there.

Don't forget about Clover! You'll also be asked to attend Clover training so that you can push Clover to small local retailers on your off hours. I'm not in sales, I don't make the money they do, so why am I asked to push something on my time off? I wouldn't ask someone from sales to build a Windows server for me during their off hours.

If you're not in the office 50% of the time you're manager and one above will receive a report from NY saying that you're not working from the office. You will also find software (Sapience Buddy) installed on your laptop (good luck in getting anything newer than 3yrs old) to track, I mean discover your daily work pattern and time spent on work activities. And hopefully you like New Jersey!
