Thread regarding Boeing Co. layoffs

Good!

WASHINGTON, March 1 (Reuters) - U.S. airplane manufacturer Boeing Co (BA.N) said on Tuesday it was suspending parts, maintenance and technical support for Russian airlines as well as major operations in Moscow after Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

"As the conflict continues, our teams are focused on ensuring the safety of our teammates in the region," a Boeing spokesperson said.

The announcement came a day after Boeing said it had paused operations at its Moscow Training Campus and temporarily closed its office in Kyiv.

First opportunity they have to reopen the design center they will. Boeing executives are addicted to cheap labor. If a truce is reached between Ukraine and Russia Boeing will be back in there in a heartbeat. They have absolutely no ethics.

I think the plan for the new middle market aircraft was to have a large part of it designed in Moscow anyways. Which is so ridiculous considering Russia is probably the second biggest threat to the US military and this is who Boeing wants as their biggest engineering partner. The US military should’ve stepped in and not allowed the design center to grow to the levels that is has where you have the majority of engineering being done in Moscow. They should have stripped Boeing of any future military contract after that. But since they never win anything substantial It would’ve had minimal impact. Instead of moving jobs back to the United States they will just go somewhere else like India.

People need to stop looking at Boeing as an American company and start taxing It like the foreign company it is. The tax breaks this company gets is absurd.

Not sure why all the negative commenters that are so virtuous don’ t sand up for their cause and quit! They knock the managers ,if you could do better apply for the job and see what it’s like to try to motivate employees that do not meet you halfway!

Never truer words. No motivation on the line. Managers cr-p on us and we leave our cr-p in the airplanes. Hoping for more layoffs so can collect unemployment and find better job. Even being homeless would be an improvement.

Yup, Boeing disenfranchised all their great engineers and managers that once made Boeing great. The only thing left is incestuous executives and inexperienced and unmotivated employees.

Government forced them to do that. CEO would try to avoid as it impacts his bonus.

SpaceX has left Boeing in the dust. And ironically it was ex Boeing engineers who mastered rocket science back in the 80s that largely made this happen. Maybe Boeing should have treated their best engineers better than their worst executives. Just sayin...

Another nice SpaceX F9 Starlink satellite launch and recovery this AM. They launch about every week these days and have reused some first stages 11 times now with over 100 total successful recoveries.

Bad and scary...as long as any Boeing airplanes manufactured in last 10 years are allowed to fly.

Boeing moscow design center is still operating. Boeing employees working in US are leaving in droves. Operations are chaotic and broken, but this has been the case in recent years. Just getting even worse.
