Well, looks like no major layoff this week although there are lots of reorg announcements coming out and many departures of SVPs and VPs. Really no surprise as it seems we still don't have a solid post-merger org structure in place and a plan to eliminate all the redundant positions.

FYI. the only reason new call centers are being built was to get democratic support for the merger approval. Now that 2 year window has passed old call centers will be closed and those jobs geoshifted to Philippines, India and other English speaking countries. Ireland also has good tax carrot to move USA jobs there also.

They're called "Centers of Excellence", whatever that means. What I can tell you is that, even as an employee, I used to get a "Team of Experts", and pretty good treatment. Now I get a voice with an accent telling me all the wrong things about my account, and costing me more money, until I call someone I know who can fix whatever it was Scooter did to my account.

That’s not true on Customer Care outsourcing. They’re building two new call centers in California and New York. Freier is building all new company-owned stores and not TPR. I think he’s trying to figure out how to insource more. Say what you want about the guy, but he’s not d-mb. He knows he’ll get little credit for saving a few bucks, but he’ll get all the blame if he doesn’t fix Callie’s mess.
